I made this cake for "popcorn night" at church. I made the popcorn out of mini-marshmallows and painted the centers with yellow color mixed with vanilla. I was inspired by "suzyqqq2's" cake.

This cake was made using buttercream frosting, and marshmallow fondant for the Nemo figure. The blue buttercream gradually gets darker from the top to the bottom layers.

I made Nemo from the fondant, & used black edible marker for the details. This was the 1st time that I've used marshmallow fondant. It was pretty sticky and messy to make, but I really like the taste better than the pre-packaged fondant. I hadn't made any figures like this before, so I was really happy with how it turned out

This was my first attempt at MMF. I tinted it with Wilton's Delphinium Blue, and did the scrolls with melted Ghiradelli milk chocolate. The inside of the cake was a triple chocolate fudge with a chocolate hazelnut mousse.

This is my very first marshmallow fondant. Lots of room for improvement, but I was so pleased. Rolled out easy and didn't tear. It didn't taste bad either.

This was by far the most bizzarre cake request I've ever recieved. My best friends boyfriends 21st birthday cake and this is what he wanted. Ying yang cake, half chocolate with white frosting and half yellow with chocolate frosting. Instead of dots he wanted one to be a dracula and the other to be a brown bear wearing a baseball hat. My best friend insisted that i just do dots. oh and No filling. A 2 layer cake no filling. i painted luster dist on the white MMF

I made these for my son to take to school for his x-mas party. Cupcake with marshmallow on top. Scarf is sour candy , it comes in a roll like fruit roll up. Arms are pretzels, hat is wilton colored candy melts. Eyes, nose and mouth are just drops of food coloring dabbed on with a toothpick.

I used DH devils food cake and homemade peanut butter and banana frosting. The head is a marshmallow and the hat is Nestle Crunch candies. Arms are chocolate covered pretzels. I'm not really happy with the faces, but I'm a super-newbie (these are my second attempt at decorated cupcakes). I'll get it eventually.

I was inspired by another CCer who did fondant horse cupcakes, sorry I don't remember your name, but since I am not the best modeler, I decided to use marshmallows instead. Cut them up for the face, used a whole one for the body, and 4 small ones for the legs, and then piped on a mane, tail, and horns.

I made it during my son's birthday. I used marshmallow fondant (easiest for beginner's, I assure you) & cocoa to achieve the chocolatey color. I used marzipan for the seal, elephant & the clown. I put 2 marzipan roses behind the clown. It's a real hit, the disappeared like magic.

I couldn't decide which picture is the best so i'm uploading them all. I cut the cake from a large sheet cake. the neck is rice krispie treats. all of the decorations are MMF. the strings are angel hair pasta. I traced my brothers guitar to get the exact size/shape. This is my favorite cake that I have made so far. Took 3 days to complete. My guy and his family were very pleased with it. Also my first attempt at airbrushing.

Not birthday cakes, but could be. Thank you to cakes by Kris for this idea it was fun! This is lemon cupcakes, with chocolate fudge injected. Pastry pride frosting and marshmallows. I must "sheepishly" admit I used a sharpie to make the faces......... I know that is a big no no, but I didn't have the black edible marker. I'll pick one up next time. It was only a tiny bit, but still... not something good to do.

2 7" ovals. Yellow with vanilla custard. MMF covered and accents. This went with another cake and served as an extra cake in case there weren't enough servings with the first cake.

Sculpted airplane. Yellow cake with vanilla custard filling. MMF covered and accents. Top wing is solid chocolate bar made with candy melts and covered with MMF. Only issue was that I had to refrigerate it because of the filling, so the fondant was a little tacky, but it still came out fine. I learned a ton, and though I wish it could have been flawless, I am very proud of the outcome. (I believe I even saved it from coming out looking like a big blue whale/bus airplane. Yeah!)

Popcorn cupcake made for my son's daycare. The marshmallows were cut in half and stuck back together. Then they were stuck on the iced cupcake. I used wilton colors for the butter look. I made the label on my computer and just cut it out. Everybody loved them.
