i work at a defense company with many ex military such as the marines. I was very proud this cake went over well and after the party i was told "same time next year." The top is a chocolate transfer that took me at least a day.

I just made this for a friend who's throwing a going away party for her son who just joined the Marines'; he leaves on Monday. Semper Fi topper is made out of melted red candy kotes, rope is made of fondant dusted with gold luster dust and the little emblems on the bottom tier are made from a mold, filled with white chocolate.
I just hope he likes it.
Thanks for looking.

Did this cake in honor of my husband and his unit coming home from deployment last week. I created the image on photoshop, then printed it and made an FBCT out of it. The digital cammies took 4EVER to do, but I think it was worth it! Everyone seemed to enjoy it.

I made this cake for my brother-in-law's homecoming from Iraq. This was my very first time working with fondant, so my fondant rope isn't the best, but I was happy for my first time. The emblem is an edible icing picture printed at a local cake shoppe for me. Thanks for looking

I made this groom's cake for my best friend's son. It is a square 16 inch cake on the bottom
covered in chocolate buttercream, and (3) 12 inch rounds for the top, I tapered the top 2 layer
so that it was slanted. The emblem was a 12 inch piece of styro foam covered in black
fondant, then a circle of red fondant for the center. The emblem itself is made from a
chocolate mold, but I used fondant to make the emblem. All of the gold is gold highlighter
mixed with confectioners glaze and hand painted.

This was a special cake made for a friend's son who had just graduated from basic training. He is going to be an aviation mechanic in the US Marine Corps-Semper Fi!! This was inspired by several toolbox cakes here on CC. The tools are all made of chocolate and brushed with luster dust.

The bride designed this and I had no idea if it would look good, when finished.. Originally, I had 5 layers for this cake, the largest, bottom layer cracked and totally separated on the way to the wedding. I didn't freak out, but my husband, who was driving, felt so bad,. The bride only wanted 4 layers, so she didn't know any different. All the colors coordinated with this Marine themed wedding.

Got a call for this cake....they wanted to incorporate the fact he was a Marine, likes to duck hunt and is graduating from Averett. Uhh...ok, those have nothing really to do with each other! So this is what I came up with! Buttercream with fondant accents.

This cake was based off of a photo the grooms mom emailed me. Cake is done with 4 10" rounds filled (cardboard halfway through to give 2 separate cakes.) Covered in fondant and airbrushed. Silver trim is silver ribbon. Fastners for drum are fondant pieces placed on a cookie stick and airbrushed silver, adhered with royal. Drum sticks are his drum sticks... he plays in the Marine Corps Band... fun cake, I loved the end result!

Okay, this is a marine groom and a bride set of figues made for a wedding shower cake. The customer only wanted buttercream icing and getting the bride to stay put was a challenge. I was not given a picture of them, just told that they were indian race, so I was to make the skin a little darker. I hope they like it!!! Thanks for looking.

There are 3 FBCT's on top of this 11x18 sheetcake. One is a full-top FBCT which contains the US Marine Corps emblem. The other FBCT's are the 2 ribbons.

This cake was for my mom's godson, He loves the Marines so this is what I came up with. I know my greens are too similar but I only had like two days to do this. I had a lot of trouble with this cake but in the end I guess it's okay, plus he's a lil boy so I don' t think he'll be too critical..lol. And the lettering on sides and helicopter are RI. TFL! Oh I posted other views on the cake decorating forum also.

Cake I made for my dad. White chocolate transfer... my VERY FIRST one. I hurried the blue chocolate and it shows... not too bad for my first try though.

I really enjoyed making this one! It was massive (serve 128). Layered sheetcakes on the bottom, a 10" round on the columns and the fireman's hat was cake, too. My only complaint about this one was that I wish the flag had been bigger. It was my first flag and I was otherwise very happy with the results.
