This was a donation for our local art museum's annual mask gala and auction. The top tier is a dummy and the bottom is a French vanilla cake with bc filling. The masks are completely edible. The bells, trim etc are all fondant and colored dots are poured sugar. Lots of work and lots of fun!!

This cake was commissioned for a suprise birthday party of which the theme was Mardi Gras. She absolutely loved it! The cake and most of the decorations were done with fondant. The bow and curly ribbons were gumpaste and the mask was store bought with a little doctoring.

I've always wanted to make a Mardi Gras cake and I finally did it this year. The cake was a lemon variation of the WASC cake with lemon buttercream filling. I decided to string the beads on dental floss so that they'd lie like necklaces and not like individually placed beads. Thanks for looking!

I'm in DESPERATE need of practicing my fondant skills....cracking, wrinkling....UGH! But they were SUPER happy with it in spite of all the flaws I saw. I'm such a buttercream girl! They put a mardi gras mask on top for the party. Cupcakes were just a fun addition.

I was asked to make a Mardi Gras/Year of the Tiger/Valentines day cake and this is what I came up with for the strange request :) I had a beautiful gumpaste painted mask to go on it but it smashed on the floor into a zillion pieces 30 mins before pick-up! Lucky I had some mardi gras beads to throw on there!
