Three tier, choc white and marble cake. Buttercream and mmf. I made the mask covered with mmf and painted it with luster powder. Zebra and red!

Cute but nothing special. For my DD's 3rd birthday. Mardi Gras theme. Butter yellow cake w/strawberry filling and BCI. Purple, green, and gold are the traditional colors. For those that do not know, I live in one, if not the only ,place that continues to have a traditional Mardi Gras. Men riding on horseback throughout countryside stopping at houses where they dance and chase chickens. There's no beading throwing or float riding here!

I made this cake for my mom for her birthday. Her office puts on a huge Mardi Gras dinner right around her birthday every year.

Made this cake for a Mardi Gras Party. I made a red velvet cake, but used purple food coloring instead. it turned out great! Used fondant on the top tier and that gave the cake a fun top. I used coat hangers and balled fondant for the hangy things. This cake actually tasted good!

The masks are made of fondant that was molded on a form, and were hand painted. The decorations are all fondant, also hand painted. Thanks for looking! Comments would be appreciated.

This is a banana flavored cake with BC and covered in fondant. Carnations are gumpaste/fondant mix. This is my final cake for my Wilton IV class and since it was near Mardi Gras I went with mardi gras colors.

This unknown cookie recipe came with my container of 101 cutters, but it is the best cookie! Flooded the cookie with a combination of 2 recipes...Tara1970 & Toba Garrett's. I LOVE how smooth & glossy it is. The mask is a test I bought at Hobby Lobby. I filled it with white chocolate and cut out the eyes and tried painting on chocolate for the first time. My poor nephew gets a girly mask for his birthday, but Mardi Gras is about over and I didn't have anything planned with the chocolate mask.

This is a birthday cake that fell on Mardi Gras! This is my first topsy turvy, and with every cake I learn. :) Thanks to Janell for her video, it was right on time - Hugs! Not as good, and certainly not as simple as you make it look...but, I'm pleased. I know where all the faults are...lol They loved it. :)

I used chocolate for the mask on top and the stars. The tiers are covered in fondant with buttercream made to look like beads around the bottom of the cakes.

The mask is a gum paste hand carved and painted with a gold edible paint. The black is done with food coloring and vanilla. The beads are fondant and strung on thread. I made it for a Moms group and they devoured it.

My 2009 submission for the "That Takes the Cake" competition in Austin. Roof was supposed to be more substantial, but measurement discrepancies caused a desperate rework in hotel room. Sculpting hidden by two layers of fondant. But judges LOVED my hand work. :)

The restaurant I work for had a "Mardi Gras" themed christmas party. The cake was covered with fondant, the mask wasgumpaste, the snowflakes were white chocolate, and the beaded necklace was royal icing.
