A sweet Christmas log-cabin with happy elves peering from the windows! This was made in fruit cake (but a sponge would also work!) Covered and modelled entirely in fondant.

All buttercream, mango filling with yellow cake. The bark was the most fun, I really got to just slap it on and the messier i got the more it looked real! To do the names on top I made a paint of cocoa powder and water to trace in the lines i drew in the frosting.

This cake was for my son's birthday. I made the turrets, flags, and top of the castle in advance out of gum paste to allow to dry. The moat is a mixture of BC and pipping gel. I used an impression mat for stone effect on the walls. Fun cake to make, but not sure if I would do it again unless someone was paying me a a lot of money to do. Very time consuming:)

Smaller cake was the forest and log cabin from the book. Log cabin is just graham crackers covered in chocolate icing and pretzels.

This is a 9x13 cake covered in fondant. The entire thing is edible. Almost everything on the cake is made from fondant with the exception of the water and part of the cattails. The water is blue tinted piping gel on top of a blue strip of fondant. The cattail stems are spaghetti. Cake and graham crackers are the structure of the tent.

My husband and son have to miss their father-son camp-out this evening, so I thought I'd give them the next best thing to a real camp fire- a cake that looks like one. I actually tried a couple new things with this cake: The cake is a chocolate roll, with whipped cream filling and chocolate ganache. The flames are a hard candy I made from a lollipop recipe and broke into pieces. The crumbs are a graham crackers. TFL

I made this camping scene cake for a double birthday party. The kids loved that it was personalized and completely edible! All the pieces are made with fondant and supported internally by dry spaghetti noodles. The green iciing is buttercream and I used candy melts for the green trees and the flames in the fire pit.

I LOVE THIS CAKE!!!!!! I spent a TON of hours on it and made it for a women who wanted to do a surprise party for her husbands return home from afganistan. All the info I had was he likes outdoors and his 79 Porche and this is what I came up with. The entire thing is edible minus the sticks holding the sign up lol. The mountain, log cabin and large rock are all red velvet with cream cheese frosting, the stream is cream cheese, rocks are fondant, car is fondant/gumpaste, trees are sugar cones and grapevines with coconut.

I was asked to do a Bulldozer/Woods themed cake for a birthday. I made two 9x13 cakes, one chocolate and one white, and put them side by side on the cake board. I frosted the whole cake in buttercream. Then I added blue gel for a lake, sugar cones for trees, a toy bulldozer pushing some pretzel logs, and graham cracker crumbs for dirt. The lady that ordered this for her son loved it!

I want to thank CakesbyJulia for the inspiration for this cake. My neighbor wanted to have cupcakes for her grandson's birthday. The little boy's father has a summer home up in Northern Wisconsin. He really lks forward to staying there. He loves boating and fishing in their red canoe and evening campfires. I was really at a loss for ideas until I found this cake by cakesbyjulia. She used a tent on hers but, given the circumstances, I used a log cabin. The s'more flavored cupcakes had a graham cracker crust and filled with marshmellow filling.
