First wedding cake - gift for my BIL and new SIL. Rustic wedding in Sundance. Based off picture she found on some rustic wedding site. Fun, easier cake...most anxiety was remote location with 5 hr drive. Small cake german chocolate, next one white chocolate with truffle filling & layered raspberries and large cake tripple chocolate. All frosted with BC.

Today is my dear friend Liz's mother's birthday. Both Liz (Liz_on_Crack on cc) and her mother are exceptional quilters, so we made twelve classic quilt block patterned cookies for her birthday. We haven't done much flooding technique, but were delighted with how they turned out. Her mom flipped!

Orange flavored yellow sponge cake from scratch. Whipped cream and French meringue filling with fresh chopped tangerines, Grand Marnier and orange extract. Chocolate buttercream frosting, meringue mushrooms with chocolate undersides, chopped homemade candied oranges, almonds, and chocolate and fondant holly leaves. Dusted with condectioners sugar and cocoa powder. MMmmmm! I would've liked to have eaten some of this. These are my favorite flavors and the client said to do what I wanted!

Disclaimer - I had NO tools to work with, and had a 12 yo, 10 yo and 7 yo assisting. Not my best work, but I had a great time making it with my nephews. It's a vanilla sponge, filled with WBHBC, and frosted in chocolate BC. The wood grain was made with a fork

I made this Yule Log cake for our Christmas Eve party. It's a yellow genoise cake with white almond buttercream filling and iced with almond fudge. I topped it with a holly leaf cookie I made and little Chocorooms that I found at the specialty grocery store. They were perfect little "mushrooms" to top off my cake!

Christmas yule log cake. Rich, moist chocolate sponge cake with my real chocolate buttercream icing filling. Chocolate ganache 'bark' created by spreading roughly with offset spatula. Mushrooms are baked piped merengue, stems and caps glued togather with melted, cooled chocolate. A gumpaste poinsettia adds color, and dusted powdered sugar around the cake represents snow. My kids LOVE this cake. You can make it a purely nature cake by using icing or rice paper butterflies or birds and hand molded creatures instead of mushrooms and poinsettia.

This is a 10" cake stacked tall and covered in chocolate fondant. I carved with fondant tools to make it look like a log and highlighted the carved lines with an edible marker. The fire I made using a cupcake and later I had to add rkt to make it taller. I covered those with marbled orange and yellow fondant cut to resemble flames. The rocks are edible chocolate. All the logs on top are made of fondant. TFL

This is a sheet cake iced with buttercream icing. It has a jello pond in the corner. The back side has extra cake that I used from leveling the cake stacked in the corner to make a hill. The rocks are fondant. The trees are made from upside down ice cream cones with royal icing on them and pretzel rods. I made a few logs as well with the pretzels. I cut away at the bottom right corner to have the track hoe digging out the cake. It was topped with crushed graham crackers for the dirt.

My Mum was in Disney before Christmas last year and had some DisneyWorld yule log cake while there. She came home and wanted to make it for Christmas Eve dinner so we made one together! It was weight watchers recipes for the cake/filling and ganache for the "bark". We baked it together, I made the holly etc and my Mum frosted the log with the ganache. :) TFL!

The couple wanted a tree stump cake that was german chocolate with the traditional coconut filling. They provided me the animals to stage around it. This is a 9" and two 8" round german chocolate cakes with homeade coconut filling iced in Godiva Chocolate buttercream. I was very happy with how it came out.

My friend asked me to create this for her mother's 70th birthday. I suggested this design b/c her mother loves her black dog, flowers and her lilac bush. Whenever the ladies take their dogs out for a walk, those pups are always looking for chipmunks. Thus, the little creature on top of the log! Dogs, picket fence and base of lilac bush are fondant. Log is entirely choc bc which I piped/froze/carved details/froze/placed on cake. Lilacs, greenery and flowers are all bc. This was such fun to make! Thanks for looking!
