John Deere Tractor for a little boy's birthday. The scoop was made from gumpaste and the "load" was mini oreo cookies. The rest was carved from a 1/4 sheet cut in thirds and stacked. I think it could have been better, but it was OK for the occassion!

The humidity made this cake become a P.I.T.A.! this is actually my first cake i have ever done from a character cake pan... :) The cake was DH fudgey Chocolate. It has a peanut butter filling(not just plain old peanut butter) and I frosted it with BC that would not crust for the life of me b/c of the humidity....oh well and i used piping gel for the windows...

John Deere is a very popular theme in our rural farming area. All BC
with real toy tractors from the JD dealer. The barn is made from pieces of cake leftover from leveling the 2 9x13 layers.

I did this cake for our county fair. Inspired by Debbie Brown's tractor cake. White cake with MMF. I'm thrilled with this cake, and think the animals are adorable. My favorite that I've made thus far!

Tractor cakes for a first birthday party. Smash cake to follow next. John Deere and Case Tractors were WASC, iced in BC Dream, covered in MMF with MMF accents. Large tires were donuts covered with chocolate MMF, small tires were just molded MMF. A lot harder than I though!
Thanks for looking :)

Thanks to All4cake for the template in the gallery and answering my questions about making this cake. It is my first real attempt at carving and is made from a 11x15 and a 6 inch round. It is also my first attempt at covering a irregular shaped cake with fondant. Tractor, hay, cart, and wheels are all cake. Birthday boy was very happy and so was his mom!

A copy of one of Cakery's designs -- I've actually used her for inspiration a lot this month!! Thank you Diane! All white cake with buttercream icing. Messed up the B just a bit - it never looks as bad in person as it does on camera!! Thanks for looking and I appreciate your comments and suggestions!

I made this for my brother-in-law for Easter last year. He's not the flowery/frilly Easter Egg type, so I made this featuring his beloved dogs and John Deere.

This was for a little boy from church, his first birthday. White almond sour cream with buttercrcream icing and fondant accents. I decided to do the baby's first john deere cake "Johnny" and was so happy to see someone had done one already on CC. I went off of siahsammi's cake to complete mine.

This was my first tractor cake. It is a carved sheet cake on top of a sheet cake. I used Michelle Foster's Delicious Fondant for covering and some decorations. I also used Nicholas Lodge gumpaste for decorations. Used edibly image for logos. Wheels were RCT covered in fondant. Plaque was gumpaste covered in fondant. Thanks to jakenheather, all4cake,boyoboy,qtcakes,GaPeach2430139, and NEWTODECORATING for your help. (I hope I didn't forget anyone else) The birthday boy and his parents loved it.

This was made as a "farewell" cake for a salesman at my hubby's work - a John Deere dealership. Yellow cake with buttercream. It was my first time using the tractor pan, and I enjoyed it! I figured with my hubby and his dad both working for John Deere, and my brother in law is a farmer/rancher, I could get good use out of the pan!
