Bottom is marble cake, 2nd is white with strawberry and buttercream fill. Top is chocolate with vanilla butter cream fill. All frosted with tinted vanilla buttercream. Screw heads are fondant painted with edible silver airbrush paint. Tape measure and work gloves are fondant as well as the wooden name plate. Don't yet have an airbrush, so painted made knot holes and painted on dark brown edible airbrush paint for detail. Toolbox is toys that belong to James. Secured the tools in place with royal icing. 4 larger surrounding tools are also toys belonging to the birthday boy.

My first Topsy Turvy!! I was so happy that it didn't fall to pieces!! It was for my son's 6th birthday. He helped with the design and loved how it turned out. It's a mint chocolate chip 6 inch on top of a 10 inch double chocolate with buttercream icing. Dirt is crushed Oreos and cocoa powder.

This is a cake I have done for my cousin for her birthday. She loves the books 'Brambly Hedge' which is about a village of mice. I chose the character Mrs Apple who loves to cook and everything so I decided to do the cake as a jar of homemade jam preserve like she might make and then made the label of the jar the title and logo of the books. On top is the chraracter Mrs Apple which is the first figurine I have made! and she is made out of fondant (which went a bit soft and caused me problems lol) and the label is also fondant and handpainted using diltued gel pastes and lustre dust and lid is covered with material and tied with string. I am pretty happy with how the cake turned out (despite the problems) cose it was actually how i envisioned it for once :) Oh and jar was stacked and carved from a tall sheet cake. Thanks for looking!

Ok, you cannot REALLY drive it, but the wheels really did turn and roll like a real toy car!

We love Monster Jam ( monster trucks) and grave digger my favorite!
made in aug. 2009, this is my first truck / vehical cake
made for a friend's son for his 8th birthday.
the cake is fudge brownie ,
the wheels are solid chocolate & made with a homemade mold and have wooden dowels for 'axles"
and the wheels reAlly rolled!
the cake sits on a pc. of cardboard folded in half, secured, and the 1/2 " dowels are sandwhich'ed in between then and peircing through the sides .the wheels and cake are covered in homemade marshmallow fondant and I handpainted with a "paint" made with lusterdust and wilton icing gel colors and vodka. The flag has gumpaste "jolly rodger" on fodant. The only parts of the cake that you couldnt eat was the flags wire, 2 dowels and the cardboard.

Chocolate cake. This was actully cut out of a quarter cheet cake! I usually don't make cakes that small, but it was for a very good friend who sends me lots of business. Her fiance is a big Jordan/James fan.

This cake was for a friend's son who turned 5. It is chocolate cake filled with chocolate syrup frosting, iced and fondant covered. Two batches of my colored fondant were dry and cracking so I ended up making a batch of white fondant and painting on the color (I was SO not pleased with the paint job but by the time I got to that point I was running way behind....and I don't have an airbrusher......yet.) The wheels are rice krispy treats covered with ganache (again, short on time and didn't have time to do the wheels in fondant but it turned out okay). Each wheel was an eight inch round, 4 inches thick (2 1/2 batches of rice krispy treats). Absolutely nothing on this cake turned out as I had intended, but after pulling an all nighter I did get it out the door on time.....and that was what was important!)

I made this cake for my sons 4th Birthday. It had two wooden Thomas tracks placed on the cake with battery operated trains running on and around the cake. One train ran clockwise and the other ran counter-clockwise. The top layer was baked with a tunnel running through it for a 3 dimensional effect. It also had a caboose that played the Thomas theme song. All was done in buttercrean icing.

This is a strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream icing. The top is hand-painted fondant and the basketballs are fondant as well. I got the lettering a little whopper jawed, but I don't think my friend will mind.
