Groom worked at LA Downs. Grew up around racing. Bride let me have free reign on this and it was so so much fun to do. Had to do a little research, because I have never been to the races. Chocolate pieces need to be a little shinier...any suggestions, anyone?

My first attempt at MMF! I love the stuff! Carved from a 1/2 sheet. Got the idea from others I saw here. Didn't get to deliver it myself, but I heard the recipient loved it!

Half sheet marble cake with buttercream icing. I did this last minute, very rushed, and my bct fell apart!! Of course, I did that last so I had no icing left to touch it up. You live and you learn I guess!

chocolate cake with BC and BC piping on sides. fondant horse and flowers. I would probably use royal icing next time for the piping cause the red bled into the white, and I think royal would probably be more smooth.

OK, so horses are not my strongest point and I'm not at all happy with the way they came out, but I thought the head cameos would be cute. 8x3in chocolate fudge cake decorated with painted fondant horse cameos and fondant lettering (sprinkled with disco sparkles).

My DH helped make this cake for my b-day. I was so proud of him he did very good even though he doesn't think he did. He is too much of a perfectionist like me. LOL!! The cake was chocolate with vanilla toffee creamer and the buttercream was also flavored with the vanilla toffee creamer. The horse I made and is chocolate modeling clay and rider is made out of mmf. The arena was made out of royal icing. This was a fun cake to do since we made it together.

This was a horseshoe w/ horses cake made for a little girl who loves horses. Big thanks to rsaun since I borrowed most of her ideas for this cake. The horseshoe was carved from a 16" round pan and then filled w/ pudding. The horses are cookies on sticks. Thanks for looking.

This little girl sent a list with exactly what she wanted her cake to look like! She wanted a white horse with black patches, 3 black feet, 1 white foot, pink inside the ear, blue eyes, black head, black & white mane, black & white tail, blue background. I did my best to accommodate all her wishes, and this is how it turned out. She was very pleased with her birthday cake! --I was too!

this cake is a 6 inch bottom and 3 /2 inch top. buttercream icing, ribbon and flower. The horses are stenciled chocolate molds. I got this idea from another cake on this site done by Meomy. Thank you so much for the idea. I tried not to do an exact copy of your cake but it was so darn cute!!!

Did a big collection of these for a baptism this weekend. I didn't have a really nice big rocking horse cookies cutter, so I ended up cutting each out by hand with a pattern....grrrr!!! I used the shape of the cutter at www.cookiecutter.com but will now go and buy it to save my sanity for the next order!

I made this cake for my daughter's 4th birthday- I wanted a unicorn to coordinate perfectly with the image on her napkin and used the Wilton Pony pan. I found a 'unicorn candy cane' at the store today and soaked it in hot water to remove the red and green striping, but it also melted the candy so I couldn't use it bare- I frosted it with buttercream and rolled it in edible glitter and stuck it on the head. This was 2 separate cakes stacked on top of each other and my first character cake pan.

This was for my son's 2nd birthday. He is OBSESSED with horses, to put it mildly! I made this to resemble the Fisher Price Little People figures. He loved it! It was a 12x18 butter cake with regular buttercream icing, freehanded drawings. I was in a rush and didn't get to finish all the details, like grass, a haystack, etc., but was happy with it anyway.
