Thank you to hcromwell for the inspiration for this cake!

It's carved from a 12X18" chocolate cake. Iced in buttercream and chocolate buttercream. Deandra (my niece) turned 6 and LOVES horses! :0)

Thanks for looking!

Attempt to combine princesses and horses. No problem right! 10" square with a 6" round. Decorated in buttercream. Towers are papertowel rolls cut to size and then covered in gumpaste. Ice cream cones for the tops. Fondant horse laying down in grass on cake (thanks to imartsy for inspiration). It was a hit!

Chocolate cake with bc icing. Another great idea taken from Cakecentral.com! I had a customer order a horse cake for her daughter's 8th birthday. The daughter loves paint horses so this is what I did. The horse didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. I tried the FBCT but it broke and I didn't have time to make another one. I ended up freehanding it right onto the cake and it was quite the challenge. Urgh! The customer was very excited when she saw it and that is all that matters. :-)

This cake is decorated mostly with airbrush, then I went back and piped on the little ponies and drew a few outlines w/MMBC. The rainbow had clear sparkles and the tree had purple glitter, but that never shows up in pics. Thanks for looking!

My daughter turned 18 and since she loves horses and is learning to barrel race, I figured that would be the theme for her cake. Bottom is a full sheet cake, with a 10" round white cake filled with homemade strawberry preserves. All frosted with Buttercream. Horseshoes, the numbers, and "Happy Birthday" is molded chocolate covered with mohagany luster dust. She LOVED it!

This is a horseshoe shaped cake with buttercream decorations. The horses are sugar cookies. I baked four of the cookies onto cookie sticks and placed them on the cake since the birthday girl was turning 4. The other cookies were plated and served alongside the cake.

I made this for my daughters 8th birthday. She loves horse and I love the pink-chocolate theme, so it worked out well I thought. At least it is different!

This cake was done to match the invitations for a baby shower. I really didn't care for it, but the customer loved it...and I guess that's what really matters!

A combination of my neice's and Dad's birthday. I had to try to incorporate 2 different themes, so I chose the horses for my neice, and the method my Dad uses to feed the horses. Buttercream icing, fondant tractor and bale, Royal icing horses, and purchased My Little Ponies (because she wanted to keep and play with them).

Fruitcake with sugarpaste. Thanks to Peachez for the inspiration. The brown sugarpaste tastes rather chocolatey, and the family loved the combination with fruitcake in a previous cake I made for them (Kilimanjaro cake). Used scrunched up tinfoil for the leather texture and brown food colouring mixed with vodka for the look.

I made this for my Godson's 7th birthday. He loves horses. I was afraid to attempt the 3D horse but he was happy with this! I used a 1/2 sheet cake pan and cut it into a barn shape. It's a little crooked but overall, I'm proud of it for being one of my first cakes!
