Here's a better picture of the Grinch cake, there's a little glare on his face, but at least it's not blurry!

I made this today for my daughter's MI Reserve Unit family day holiday meal tomorrow. She serves in the Army's 377th Military Intelligence Batallion Reserve Unit and I'm so grateful to her and to all the soldier's that serve with her. I'm so happy to provide this cake for them.

This cake was a family event. My wife baked the Carrot Cake. My 7 year old Son and I made all of the decorations from Marzipan . And, I made the table clothes from Fondant. We had alot of fun putting this one together.

I'm still new at cake decorating, so this isn't nearly as creative as others. I'm downloading a cake decorating course so hopefully my cake by Christmas will be better. But I thought I'd put this one on anyway. :) Great job everyone!

This is my first decorated cake! It is covered in cream cheese icing and a big bow made out of modelling chocolate. It was so much fun to make and it tastes as good as it looks!!

DH is having a potluck at work tomorrow, so this is what he's taking. Of course, he told me he needed this... yesterday. It's now midnight and I literally just finished it about 10 mins ago. Never done reverse shells before and my base shells need a lot of work, but oh well. As for the ghastly poinsettia on the top... I had the mentality of ''I can fix this''... I do kinda like the colors though. It's BC on a triple chocolate 9''.

This cake is similar to another one I did earlier this week. It was done to match the "Winter Greetings" Lenox china pattern. My mother, Catherine McClung, is the artist who designed the china. The cardinals are chocolate transfers, the pinecones are royal (penny sue's method) real ribbon because I don't have the knack for fondant ones yet.

This is a quick snapshot of my Halloween cake. It would have been a better picture if I would have taken it once I placed it on the glass cake tray. This cake was not perfect but all of my lil' ghost and goblins loved it at the Halloween Party.

This Holiday Bear went along with the big one. This is the mini stand up bear pan. My friend's son cannot eat wheat, gluten or milk products so this cake was for him, and the leftover batter was used to make cupcakes. I realized after we ate the cake and looked at the photos, that I forgot to put the eyes on the bear!!!

This was my 2nd attempt at a cake and while I was pretty pleased with the way it came out, I certainly learned a lot about what not to do. For example, when stacking a cake like this, it's best to not let the fondant drape over the sides or the icing from the center of the base cake will probably ooze out from the weight during traveling for the delivery. All over your lap.

This is a cake presentation requested for a company holiday party. Each single-tier cake has a different scene with "snowpeople" using the company's products. Clockwise from the top left: A couple watching Cable TV, a woman checking herself out in a mirror surrounded by Magazines, a gentleman talking on his Cell Phone, the centerpiece cake, and a grandmother talking on her Home Phone. Cakes were an assortment of vanilla and chocolate with various fillings. All in buttercream, fondant, and gumpaste.

This is a cake that I did for an office holiday dinner. I volunteered to do the cake; I figured it would give me some exposure on folks not only seeing my cakes but tasting them as well. It is the white almond sour cream cake covered in Satin Ice and painted in pearlized luster duster. I decorated with some fondant trees and snowmen and edible pearls and the snowflakes are white chocolate, also dusted in pearl luster duster.

This is my first attempt at fondant without supervision :) The design was inspired by a stained class cake in one of Colette's books, and modified ("simplified"!) a bit. Poinsettia outline w/royal icing, filled in with colored gel. Bow made with gumpaste. Devil's Food cake with strawberry preserve filling.

I work for an advertising agency called Red Chair Marketing, and this was our dessert for our holiday party.

This was butter pecan cake w/ buttercream and EVERYONE just kept going on and on about how delicious it was. Tasted like pancakes, but even better. Even the employees at the restaurant loved it.

First time using candy melts, which is what I used for the chair. I added shimmer dust to the chair to dress it up a little, and added cake sparkles to the holly leaves.

This is a cake for a 40th anniversary. I covered the cake in fondant then attached the fondant ribbon and bow. I then "painted" the ribbon and bow w/ super pearl and added the embossed designs on the cake w/ BC icing. The poinsettias are gumpaste.
