I made this for the 4th of July. I had only been decorating for about a month when I did this cake and was pretty proud of how it turned out.
Chocolate cake with buttercream icing.

1/2 ball pan covered with violet mmf; trimmed with violet ribbons. Tulle is mixed with pearl and lavender stamens and ribbon. Roses are fondant; drop flowers and pearl beads are mmf. I was going for an antique look so I dusted the hat and decorations with Wedgewood first and then applied Antique Silk. This is my first time doing a hat and really enjoyed it. Learned alot as I went along for the next time. Inspiration came from CupCake's Blue Hat.

This is another half egg cake that I did for my family. I found this really cute plate at Target! It is iced in pecan buttercream, and the decorations are fondant, except for the royal drop flowers.

This was for a children's Christmas party at my parish. First time I tried to construct a tiered cake and the most cake I have made at one time to date!! The cakes were covered in IMBC and the decorations were freehanded out of candymelts and applied onsite.

Fun to make once all the icing is mixed up. My girlfriends and I gave up on the cookie exchange. Not everyone was a baker. Now two of us just bake a ton of cookies and have icing bags ready to go - we must gossip and decorate for 8 hours that day. Lots of fun -everyone takes home their own handiwork and learns new tricks from the experienced ones.

1st atempt at suitcase modelled cake, base cake is a real cake. Cakes are a rich fruit cake with lots of rum, a West Indian family receipe! So base was strong enough to take the weight of the top cake. Use of edible liquid gold colour for the first time. Completed all modelling in sugarpaste. Done for a couple returning back from their Honeymoon. Really enjoyed this challenge. Sarah Sharpe

Got this idea off another persons cake decorating website and I can't recall now where (it's been a while and I was pregnant at the time). A friend (tiffo) and I did this together for a Cookie Ornament exchange for Christmas. It was a blast!
Used BC, white cake. The topper is a snowflake cookie I made for the cookie exchange.

This is based on a cake in the Wilton 2007 yearbook. We had a family Christmas early since my husbands cousin was on leave from Iraq. The squares are fondant and it was my first time making something other than MMF. It wound up sticking so the square decorations didn't work out well. I ended up having to rush on the top layer so it didn't turn out as well as hoped either but it was the first practice I've had time for in months so at least I had fun!

I did the stand-up house cake for my daughter's birthday party. After making it, I realized it wasn't big enough for all of the guests. I made a 9" round cake and placed the house on top. The tombstones and tree were made with Color Flow.

I just started decorating a couple of months ago. My friend decided to give me a call to see if I'd put something together for her daughters 6th birthday. It was a Halloween theme. I asked her daughter if she could have any kind of cake she wanted for her party, what would it be. She said it had to be chocolate and she wanted a pumpkin. So this is what I came up with. I added the Candies around the sides and was able to write a birthday greeting down each side of the cake board. I'm having a blast!!!

I did this one up as a sample to generate a few orders. Cookies are NFSC w/fondant. Airbrushed the color and added Alice's cookie icing details. The little lights on the round cookie were done w/Americolor's food markers- I LOVE those markers!!

This is a "portrait" cookie technique I learned from my MOM, iced with a thin icing painted on with a paint brush, then each sugar added. Eyes are half of a raisin. Cookie Cutters can be found at grammascutters.com. Merry Christmas!!

I loved the pumpkin cakes everyone has submitted. So, I had to try one. This is the first time I have used fondant to cover a cake. I used MMF. The Cake is Spice cake. I had alot of cracks. But for my fist time, I guess it didnt turn out to bad.
