This is the wedding cake that I did for my best friend in Utah. Our family drove from Texas to make a cake for her. I made this cake in about 1 1/2 days. I used mostly round cake pans and encircled it at the bottom with the little hearts.

This was the first time I Ever tried adding lace borders to a cake. The little hearts are made out of royal icing. I piped each and every little one. I made this cake for an Easter Potluck that we will be having at work tonight. It's nothing special. Just a simple yellow cake with Bittersweet Chocolate Frosting. I didn't have time to get fancy.

Trial side cake for a wedding cake I have to do. It is white cake, cream cheese filling, buttercream frosting with royal icing roses, hearts and triangles. The roses on top are out of fondant and won't be there on the real cake/

Made this cake for a lady my mom works with. She is diabetic so I used whipped cream sweetened with Splenda for the icing. Roses are royal icing.

This was the very first cake I made. I made the flowers and butterflies from royal icing. I also made the fondant. Will never do that again! LOL

This cake was made in GA and then had to travel all the way to FL. It made it in pretty good shape. Will never do that again. LOL

I don't like this cake! The customer wanted no words and the design was up to me. Of course, the idea came from this site but I didn't do it justice. Even the photo is bad! LOL

This was a dark chocolate cake. Unfortunately, I have no idea what kind of filling I used. But it was pretty dang tasty! I covered it with fondant, which was a nightmare, then put buttercream roses that were supposed to look like the sterling roses that my co-worker's husband gets her every year. I sprinkled them with some of that sparkly silver stuff, but I don't think it showed up well in the picture. Please feel free to email me a@ohbucko@aol.com with WHO WANTS CAKE in the subject line. Thanks.

This cake was iced with buttercream then airbrushed purple. Sliced strawberries laid on top then finished off with purple roses with silver leaves and disco dust.

After 7yrs and 3 kids, my DH and I finally tied the knot this past Saturday.
Here's the simple, but elegant cake that I made for our wedding.

All white cake (16, 14, 12 , 10X3) tiers with all BC. Wilton fancy fountain, silk flowers and wooden monogram letters that I spray painted.

I made sure to keep the cake as simple as possible (since of course, I had plenty to worry about) and I let the presentation be what impressed people the most.

Similar to the one in the Wilton yearbook. My first time making rosettes. I also don't know how to make buttercream roses yet, so I molded some out of colored white chocolate and put them around the edge of the cake (but forgot to line them up with the decorations on top!). Hearts on top are also colored white chocolate - molded them in a shaped muffin pan. People wouldn't eat them at first because they thought they were plastic! :)

This is a picture of my first attempt at the buttercream fondant. It really tasted great, but found that it was a tiny bit on the "greasy" side. It also made it difficult to shape the ribbons and all, but I am sure with a little adjusting the recipe it will be good. The shape was made by using a square pan and a round pan. Cutting the round in half and sitting each half upon the sides of the square pan.
