I can't even begin to describe all the things that went wrong with this cake - so I am actually pretty happy with the results (as I didn't expect much). All IMBC, top tier is yellow cake, boktom tier is freckled mocha cake with bailey's mousse filling. Oh yeah, and the middle of the logo says "no way" because I only have 4 tips (I'm a NEWBIE newbie) and the smallest tip I have was too large to write Harley-Davidson - lol.

This is a surprise groom's cake. It is a 1/3 scale of a 95th Anniversary Harley Davidson Fatboy. Replica of the grooms bike he had before he got engaged. It measures approx 32" long and about 17" to top of handle bars. It was extremely fun to make - even after I broke one of the fenders the night before it was to be delivered - was able to repair. My daughter had to deliver it to the wedding which was 5 hours away. I forgot one detail. Forget to get the Harley emblem on the fuel tank. :(

My first tiered cake. I learned I should have made a 6" cake to put on the cake plate that came with the wilton course 3 cake. I think the cake would have looked much better with the ruffle on the top tier also. Live and learn right? I am still trying to learn how to make the cake completely smooth. Logo, flowers, & leaves made with fondant. Cake & board/plate covered in fondant. Lace & shell made with buttercream.

This is a handmade cake, classic white with hm bc almond icing, we didnt have a cake pan for it so we did the best we could, the wheels are 6 inch cakes, and the motorcycle is a 12 inch cut to form the body, we built it up with candy mold, and painted the chrome with sparkle dust mixed with almond flavoring,

This was my first fondant cake. It was easier than I thought it would be. I printed off a Harley Davidson logo from the internet and placed it on black fondant and cut it with an exacto knife..I piped the orange and white. Of course the motorcycle was from the toy isle at WalMart. Jack LOVED it! This would be good for any age!

On the right front and back corners you can see how my 15 month old son managed to make his mark on Daddy's birthday cake! Here I used 3 colors of fondant and silver M&M's to reselmble the grommets often seen on Harley accessories. The cake was Hershey's chocolate with Reese's PB buttercream icing... mmmmm

The cake is iced in buttercream, airbrushed black, and topped it with a frozen buttercream transfer Harley Davidson logo. The bride and groom (hand-molded from modeling chocolate) are sitting on a plastic toy motorcycle. The flames are cut out of gum paste and airbrushed yellow, orange, and red. A tutorial for the frozen buttercream transfer can be found at melcakwalk[dot]blogspot[dot]com.

Carrot cake made with the Wilton checkerboard pans. I used cream cheese frosting and fondant for the decorating. I'm not very good a piping letters, especially ones that have to look a certain way like this Harley logo. But overall I like how it came out.

My first cake for money! ;)
In-Laws 25th Wedding Anniversary - Harley Cake
6" two layer Chocolate Fudge Cake with Raspberry filling. Frosted with Almond buttercream frosting. Now wishing I had used Fondant for road, road sign and Harley Logo, would have been a lot easier.
Piping gel transfer didn't work well at all so Harley logo is almost all free hand.
Yes, still need work on my writing and straight lines :) TFL!
