My 17th birthday cake. Purple buttercream (violet + burgundy + royal blue) with white MMF/gumpaste accents... I used wilton pearl dust mixed w/ extract and painted it on the white parts. I made the swags based on the article here @ CC-- amazing! And it totally stuck to the buttercream too! (I used toothpicks on each side of every swag for added support) The cake is slightly domed... my cake pans are inadequate but I just bought some new ones. 17 sparkly white candles on top (:

This is a cake I did for my son's first birthday. It was the first time I had ever done anything with gumpaste let alone making models. There were a few glitches and a few lessons learned, but overall I was happy with how it turned out.

This cake was for a recent bridal shower. The daisies are made of fondant and gum paste mixed together. Everything else is BC. I was happy with how well the colors matched the other decorations (see the napkins on the right). This was my first stacked cake. Thank you SPS!

This is an anniversary cake I made for a friend. It is red velvet with cream cheese icing,
and gum paste ribbon roses and leaves. I thought using crumbs on the icing would look
interesting, and it turned out I loved it!!

My first bouquet of gum paste roses, filler flowers, berries and leaves. I added the pearl sprays for extra oomph. These things took me a total of about 10 hours to finish! Each piece was steamed to blend the petal dust in a little more.

This design was inspired by a cake done by The Pink Cake Box. It has gum paste daisies and MMF
flip flops. This cake was done for a 50th birthday.

I got a call to do this cake at the last possible minute - at 11:30 PM on a Thursday for a Saturday night celebration of 60 years. Turns out Hurricane Gustav changed the plans for the party and this cake evac'ed with the honoree's. Gum paste roses and calla lilies, diamonds and an impression roller I purchased at ICES. TFL

My daughter loves panda bears, so for her 16th birthday I made this cake. It's covered with white chocolate fondant. The decorations are either gum paste or 50/50 gum paste & fondant mixed together. It was fun to put together and she really liked how it turned out. There's a close up picture of the panda on top of the cake in the 3-D gallery. I wish this picture had turned out a little better though.......all well!

I wish this was my own design, but alas it is not. This was a cake that my sister-in-law fell in love with and wanted me to re-create for the wedding. It is a Confetti wedding cake called "Embroidery". I hope i did the design justice.

I made this lemony cake for a friend who often declares flip/flops are "her shoes of choice." The zebra stripes are hand done with a food color pen and match the ribbon border on the cake board (not seen in photo.) The flowers are gum paste. The straps are coated in sugar crystals.

This is a chocolate chunk cake made with Godiva Liquor (chocolate and Mocha). The neck is made with Rice Krispies and the detailing is made with gum paste (i.e. mouth, nose, ears, eyes) We had less than 2 days notice to pull off this cake. We made a special board to balance the head and counter the weight from tipping over. The home-made fondant was sprayed with a mixture of colors to give it the "realistic look" that we were looking for. If you have any questions, I would be glad to help. :)

This was a first all around... my first gum paste roses (Edna a.k.a. Tonedna gets all the credit for these as I studied her videos on YouTube diligently,) my first wedding, my first massive number of cupcakes! The cupcakes were coated in hand-dyed crystals (rock candy) per instructions by Elisa Strauss in her Confetti Cakes book. The cuppies were Italian Cream, Wedding White, and Strawberry Fields. The topper cake is what I like to call an "Eternity Cake." It's a dummy cake utilizing the roses.

This Ewok cake was made for my biggest Star Wars fan! Love you brother!
Hi all cake lovers! Several have asked for directions for this cake. If you have more questions please send me a note. I used the Wilton Care Bear 3D pan. I have an old one from 1983...but the new bear pan would work just as well. I used the star tip...18 or 21...both work well for making the fur. I striped the inside of the piping bag with white and brown frosting to get the mixed color for his face. I made the face details out of fondant and gum paste. I sculpted those parts by hand and used tooth picks to hold in place. I painted on black dye gel for the eyes and nose to get the glossy look. The hood is rolled fondant. I rolled it really thin to get a good lay over the cake. I used the cake pan to shape the hood before I put it on the cake. I colored the hood with the copper gel color...I saturated the fondant with this color to get the color I wanted.
I covered a dowel rod in fondant to make the staff...I marbled different shades of brown. I used ground cinnamon to dirty him. The cinnamon was finer than cookies and made a better dusting as well as the color complimenting the copper dye.
The ears are rolled gumpaste and fondant cut into triangles made out of the copper color. I used a large size flower form from Wilton to dry them on to get the curve. I painted on brown and copper gel color inside the ears for a darker look. Good luck! If you make this cake send me a picture! Would love to see it!

Finally had an opportunity to try to make a GP shoe. I followed the directions in the Confetti Cakes book. Cake is 12 x 9, cut in half & stacked, covered in fondant. Tissue paper is gp dusted with luster dust. Shoe is GP painted with silver highlighter, dragees across the straps. Top of shoe bok is cardboard covered in fondant. Edible images for the Jimmy Choo logo on shoes & box lid. Very fun to make!

I attended the class for the poinsettia, and I allways thought it would be a difficult flower to make, but it really isnt. I was pretty impressed with the results - lol
Thank you for looking - hope you like it as much as I do.

This cake is made from special designed styrofoam forms, covered with gumpaste, gumpaste swags, hundreds of hand rolled gumpaste roses, calla lilies and leaves. Middle section has hundreds of hand rolled pearl shaped balls and accented with gum paste medallions. This cake took me over 100 hours to complete.
