I did this cake for a cake walk, but it would also be a good baby shower cake or bridal shower cake using the colors of the bride or baby room. This was my first attempt at doing a fondant bow on top of the cake. It flopped and didn't turn out as good as I would have liked, but I'll try again.

Lots of inspiration from other cakes on cc! Thank you! Had some bad color decisions and my slice fell apart a little bit. But, other than that I feel good about the design. Oh! On the bottom where the slice is missing it looks like my bc is all messed up...that's a reflection in the paper, very strange! Thanks for looking! This is a cake I did that all the bride told me to do was include navy, pink, yellow, purple and green, and make it look like spring. So not knowing her I was nervous - well her mother told me this cake reminds her of her daughter, simple, pretty and elegant, I was so happy! 14"/10"/6" rounds covered in mmf and fondant flowers and ribbon.

I wanted to try this style of cake after seeing so many fabulous ones on CC. I had my opportunity when my daughter's best friend turned 17. She loves pink purple and bright green. White and chocolate cakes covered with MMF which is harder than I thought to cover the spot where the piece is taken from. The kids loved it.

This was a cake i did for a demanding client. It turned out pretty good I thought, but they were expecting a much larger cake. They only wanted to spend 25 dollars though, and for that much I barely broke even. I won't be doing that again.

Not great, but my bf and I are improving. Learned a lot on this one, and my writing still sucks.

My first one of these, made for someone who is driving it home themselves...3 hours away! omg! All fondant, 4, 6, and 8" cakes. I used the tutorial on here that helped a lot, and I had some mishaps with stacking, but you can't really tell... had fun doing it though--hope it survives the trip! Vanilla caramel cake, chocolate with PB filling, and white cake with raspberry. Design is from a picture they emailed me.

This was for a friend's baby shower. The inspiration of the design came from a napkin of the theme she used throughout the party ("Love by Carters).
Cake was 3-tiers of different flavors and fillings.
Bottom Tier (purple) - almond/vanilla cake with guava and cheese filling
Center Tier (pink with stripes) - vanilla cake with dulce de leche filling
Top Tier (green) - chocolate cake with Ghirardelli chocolate ganache
The cake was iced in buttercream and rolled "Satin Ice" vanilla fondant.

Both layers are chocolate WASC in BC - I struggle with these petal pans, I cannot get the "grooves" of the pan to stand out enough. It just looks like a round cake with a few bumps, and I just could not get my BC smooth on the top tier (good thing it's hard to see in the pic). GP and MMF decorations. Hopefully the B-day girl likes it. TFL

Dummy cake covered in fondant with fondant ribbons and flowers. The vines and leaves are green royal icing. It was a challenge to incorporate all the colors they were using in there wedding without it looking too crazy! Hopefully I did okay! :)

This is a 6/10/14 offset stacked tiered cake. Top- red velvet, Middle- Funfetti, and bottom- Chocolate. All has vanilla almond BC filling with fondant covering. All decor is fondant except the "27" and "Happy Birthday" Candles. I actually tried incorporating the board into this cake.

Another pregnant belly cake. The baby shower theme was sweet pea. We added the mom's favorite flower (Gerbera Daisy) and her favorite color (Lavender). This made it more personalized than the average cake and she really loved it. Also I made the cake board quilted like a little baby blanket. All the squares were stamped, the purple said congratulations, the white said baby, the pink had rattles, and the green had dotted lines.

Matches the big cake and the themed paperware, but this was the smash cake. I used the mini 3-D bear pan on a 6" cake with a mini cupcake and a sugar cone cut down for the bday hat. It's all Devil's food cake with buttercream icing per the mom's request.
