This was fun to do, but a bit stressful and frustrating at the same time. I've had pretty good luck working with fondant in the past, but this time I had to roll out a pretty large sheet of it in order to cover this cake completely. I ran into some trouble as my silicone mat was too small, so I had to roll the fondant straight out on my countertop. My counter is not designed for this, so when I began to lift the fondant, it began to wrinkle and tear. I'm not 100% with the turnout, but it's in the past.

My friend picked out this ugly robot head for his birthday cake, so just to show that it didn't belong in the cake disasters folder, I took the picture of the cake along side of the picture he chose for the design. LOL All in all, I think it came out fine. It's all fondant with some buttercream accents and butterscotch eyes.

This was a rush cake, ordered Friday afternoon for a Saturday pickup! Whew! They said they wanted gray fondant with lime green and blue polka dots and made to look 'modern'. It's mmf with mmf dots and gray bc beading around the tiers.

This is a small birthday cake I did for a neighbor. The layers are 8'', 6'', and 4'' square. It is covered in fondant and piped with royal icing. The bow is gumpaste. I was happy with how it came out.

12 inch square Buttercream with Fondant Accents...my first attempt at a present cake. I'm not happy with the slate gray black, but she wanted vanilla buttercream so this is the best I could do. Need help getting straight corners!
