Fondant covered German chocolate WASC cake with pecan coconut filling and a chocolate buttercream. Some accents were made using 60% cocoa chips that were melted then piped on. The wire is a type used for jewelry beading, and it was secured into the cake using toothpicks. Sorry about the bad picture- my camera broke so I had to use my cell phone.

Made this cake for someone who loves Ed Hardy (which I'd never even heard of). It's an 8in German Chocolate cake. I used the traditional German Chocolate frosting as the filling and on the sides, but I used chocolate buttercream on the top so I'd be able to do the logo out of fondant. I used edible markers for the detailing.

German Chocolate Cake with MMF figures. My first fondant person and fish. I didn't give him time to dry that's why the fishing pole is meticulously placed. Loved doing the fish.

german chocolate cake requested by bride to be served at the rehearsal dinner. Couple on cake are modled after the B&G. Bride brought a pic. of a cake topper and told me she wanted it on the cake but the screen shows his favorite vidoe game. I cracked up when I saw it. The couple loved it! Had a hard time getting the fondant to harden as we were having a humid week, ended up supporting couple with skewers. Next time I use modeling choc. TFL

This cake was beer and chocolate chip sponge with fudge filling. I dyed the layers so that it looks like the German flag when you cut into it. The cigars are fondant and flower paste.

This cake was a hoot! The recipient was a loving Husband who lost his very first set of antlers when an ill mannered hunting dog ran off with them never to be found again, while they were sitting on an ant hill being "cleaned" eww. LOL I recreated the antlers from the photo he had taken (supplied by the awesome Wife, this cake was her surprise to him for a 15th wedding anniversary) and I mounted those antlers on his very own mounting board, and attempted to recreate the scene with symbolism. The paw print was for the dog obviously, the antlers and "15" representing the anniversary and the ants, well, they were just doing their job! What fun this cake was! It is four layers of Rose Levy Beranbaum's recipe from The Cake Bible for All-American Chocolate Butter Cake filled with my Daddy's secret German Chocolate Icing/Filling recipe (seriously top secret!) and then covered in a milk chocolate ganache followed by Rose Levy Beranbaum's recipe for Classic Rolled Fondant from The Cake Bible also. That book is as advertised, my Bible of cakes for certain! I will NEVER bake without it and consider it the ultimate authority on cake recipes and science!

I made this cake for my husband's birthday. He was born in Germany and came to America back when he was a kid, and very proud of his roots, so I wanted to honor him with a cake that was related to Germany. The stein was made with seven layers of the little fill cake pans by Wilton (they resemble shortcake cakes) and I divided them with cardboard circles every two layers until I got to the top and used the last three stacked. The stein was made with red velvet and cooked butter cream filling, and the 'foam' coming out of the stein is also the cooked butter cream. I iced the outside with butter cream and then fondant. Painted all the details with petal dust and vodka. The lid and handle were made from gum paste and then painted with silver luster dust. The table cake was a caramel cake filled with chocolate butter cream, and iced with the same, then covered with a fondant table cloth. The plate, pickle, pretzels, bratwurst, and bread were all made from gum paste then airbrushed. (I actually got the texture for the bread by taking a piece of German rye bread and pressing it into the gum paste. Worked like a charm and no bread was harmed in the process.) The pickle shine was attained by painting corn syrup on the pickle. The bumps were made with a drinking straw. The pretzel salt was organic sugar sprinkled on right after the airbrushing. The plate was made using one of my own in the cupboard, and placing the rolled out gum paste right on top of it with a piece of plastic wrap between the paste and the plate until it dried on top, then did the same process by flipping the plate upside down with the plastic wrap between the gum paste and plate to get the bottom of the plate dried. Took several days.

I know there 's supposed to be white pieces also. I melted the molds trying to dry them. So I put white chocolate on the game pieces.

German chocolate with coconut/pecan filling and chocolate b/c frosting. Satin Ice fondant. Bow, flower and shoe are made of gumpaste. Used air brush paint to paint the side of the box. Silver luster dust w/ rum to paint the silver accents. This is my first attempt at a shoe. Didn't have a mold so just winged it. I had a blast making this for my daughter's 24th birthday.

I made this for a friend who got married abroad. She just saw the picture. She was born in Sweden, moved the the US as a child, recently moved to Italy to join her fiance, and will be going to live in Germany in June. Special thanks to Ursula40, FrancescaTranslator and Bunda for the language help. The cake reads "I do" in all 4 languages; my writing still needs work, but not too bad as it's the first time I've done it and it's on the side. It's a dummy cake, covered in fondant with royal icing details; flowers are all gumpaste. She loved it.

This is one very rich cake. I made it for my husband's boss for his birthday, and it was a hit. It has a cooked German butter cream frosting on the top and for the filling, and a cappuccino butter cream for the sides. Even though it uses only 8" pan sizes for the three layers, it feeds a lot of people because of the richness of the cake. Each piece was actually about half the size of a regular sized piece of birthday cake. If you are interested in making this cake, I did post the recipe along with the icing recipes all inclusive. Thanks for looking!

My daughter's bestfriend, Makayla wanted a German flag cake for her bday. Her favorite band in the world is the famous german band, Tokio Hotel. Tom Kaulitz is the guitarist and that is the guy on the cake. It's just printed pics from the internet and covered with plastic wrap. 13x9 french vanilla cake in all buttercream. Thanks for looking! Enjoy!
