German Chocolate cake with fondant star and barbed wire. Chocolate covered strawberries. When the couple ordered the cake, I let them know that I had prior plans that weekend and would need to deliver on Friday instead of Saturday, the day of the wedding. They couple didn't mind. The strawberries were delivered in a box and put into a cooler overnight to keep the stems fresher. Their families placed the strawberries on the cake the day of the wedding. It isn't quite how I would have arranged the berries on the side but that is okay. I was told it looked great and tasted delicious. If the couple was happy, I am happy! The first picture was taken by a friend who was at the wedding. She took it with her phone. The resolution was smaller than CC allowed so I enlarged it. Hopefully it isn't blurry. The second picture is how the cake looked when delivered on Friday.

For the nuts: I skewered the Macadamia nuts gently and set aside. I put 1/2c Light Corn Syrup, 1c superfine sugar and 1tsp water into a heavy glass measuring cup. Microwaved for 6.5min (Hard Crack stage), dyed pink and then let cool for a min or two (Until bubbling stops). I carefully dipped each nut and let majority of the syrup drip back into the bowl and once hardened slightly, I put each skewer under a cuttingboard on my counter to continue to dry (Good idea to put a cookie sheet on the floor to catch any drippings). I hope that makes sense :)

8" 3 layer german chocolate cake. Coconut pecan filling. Covered in whipped chocolate buttercream, chocolate sauce (chocolate almond bark, semisweet chocolate and hot whipping cream- not real ganache, so I am saying "sauce") and topped with coconut pecan filling. Chocolate transfer "25" (made with chocolate flavored almond bark) drizzled with melted semi sweet chocolate. My first german chocolate cake! Design borrowed from Sweet Pea bakery.

This 'Titanic' wedding cake was made for the first German cake exhibition called 'Tortenshow' (cakeshow) this year in October in Hamburg. With this wedding cake I won silver. It was a big surprise and I'm very happy and proud, because I started decorating cakes like this way just approx. 1 year ago and I feel honored that so many people vote for my cake!

My husband asked for a German chocolate cake (his favorite) for his birthday. My first thought was that it was going to look really plain, but I found some really pretty cakes on CC. I ended up attempting a version of the designs used by candee2300 and lazy_susan. This was my first attempt at a reverse shell border and also my first attempt at making a simple syrup and using it on a cake. We haven't cut the cake yet. I hope it's good!

The 90-year-old grandmother was known in the community for her roses and loves German Chocolate Cake. We gave her both. Unfortunately she cannot have nuts anymore, so she got her very own tier with a pecan-less coconut icing. The bottom tier was Vanilla Bean cake with White Chocolate ganache and fresh raspberries filling all covered with vanilla buttercream.

I made this cake for my big brother's 30th B-Day this last Sunday. The 3 is hand carved from a two layer 9"x13" sheet cake & the 0 is a two layer 8" round cake. I did a blind taste test with these cakes. I made the 3 from a box mix cake & canned icing and the 0 I made everything completly from scratch

This was a basket made for a woman who wanted to give it as a thank-you gift for someone who had given her thousands of used tennis balls for her dogs to play with. Apparently they each go through two tennis balls a day!

I made this for my nephew's birthday party. He is 2 and he loves my dogs so I made him a bouquet to resemble them. This was the first time I used glace' icing. I thought it was easier to use but I am not sure about the end result my cookies were blotchy. I am sure it is something I did wrong. I'm just not sure what. I will give it another whirl!

I made this cake for my Dad's 81st. birthday. He has been very ill this year and we almost lost him. My Dad is from a town on the Baltic Sea. The tower is part of the fortified walls and the Crane house is at the other end of "town". My grandfather would go out on the Baltic Sea in his rowboat seining for fish. The bottom tier is a butter cake w/raspberry filling and buttercream icing and the top tier is butter cake w/bavarian cream and choc. icing. Everything is covered in fondant and all the buildings and people are made of fondant. My first attempt at making figures. Thank you for looking!!!
