this was supposed to be more Candyland the land, than Candyland the game. I really tried to make it look clean, and not so "slapped a ton of candy on a cake". I think it turned out sweet, excuse the pun. :-D

Vanilla cake - buttercream with fondant accents. Mario is also fondant, he was pretty fun to make! Scene around edge is from the video game (apparently!). Thanks to my 10 yr. old son for helping me with the design of this cake (he's much more familiar with Mario than I am!).

This was the cake I made for my FIL's 60th. He loves chess, and my SIL suggested that as the theme. It was my first attempt at making 3-D candy, and I need more practice at that, as well as keeping in the lines on the chess board, but all in all, I was pleased with the outcome. He loved it, and several games of chess were actually played on the cake as the party went on. :)
16" two layer spice cake with buttercream icing. medallions and chess pieces in milk chocolate and white chocolate mint.

My son has played video games since he could hold a remote. He saw this on a web site as a wedding cake and begged me to make it for his birthday. I did and this is my rendition.

Yes, this was for a wedding. All fondant except the toppers (I added the veil). Cake is supposed to be a replica of this one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/alttext/sets/72157594289496628/

This was made for my mother-in-laws 70th Birthday party. She is an avid Scrabble player. This contained her full name, all of her children (7), and various key words (about 22 all together). It was a double layer, 1/2 french vanilla, 1/2 dark chocolate with Bavarian Creme center. Frosted and decorated in buttercream. The tiles were made using white chocolate, cut out and letters were stamped on with food coloring and the numbers were hand drawn.

White cake with neon green buttercream filling. Covered in Satin Ice black/vanilla fondant. Controller is carved rice crispy treats, also covered in fondant. It's my first time working with Satin Ice and I love it. It was a bit pricy to have it shipped but it is so smooth and nice to work with. I used to use MMF but I like this much more. :) Thanks for looking!

Did this for my son's birthday. Choc cake, vanilla mousse iced in chocl BC with fondant accents. Controller is a bit fat, was afraid to carve off too much. Kids thought it was "awsome" so I was happy. :) Thanks for looking.

My kids wanted me to do a "Duff" cake. Didn't turn out the way I planned--was an extremely busy weekend for "real" orders. TV is sheet cake cut into pieces and stacked. Nintendo is 6" square. My husband and nephew were both celebrating, so score is their ages. Hunting game is playing on the screen. Short plastic dowels are pushed into front of "Nintendo" and real game controls are plugged in. Wood skewers for TV antennaes. Not nearly as polished as I would have liked, but it looks OK.

My son loves link/legend of zelda from nintendo.
He wanted a link cake, this was our compromise.
Covered in rolled buttercream.
Link was made by melting & coloring chocolates, then tracing/filling in pic I found.
