This cake was for an air force veteran who's birthday just happened to fall out on flag day. He was also retiring from his current job. So I tried to incorporate a little bit of everything into this cake.

a 21st birthday cake for a young man who had recently joined the Royal Air Force. The little flying red planes represented the aeronautical display team- The Red Arrows, and the roundalls are the symbol of the RAF

My first-ever airplane! Gumpaste wings, engines and tail. The fuselage is chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, except for the sloped section at the tail - it's a styrofoam cone. Fuselage covered in fondant with RF writing. The patches were also RF. Wingspan was 34 inches, and it's 28 inches long. What a job!

I was not happy with the buttercream (again) and the humidity. Since we don't have AC, it's difficult to ice a BC cake. But, the customer wanted that. WASC on bottom tier and Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting on top cake. The cake tasted really good though and I got a lot of compliments!

This is a 9x13" cake frosted in buttercream with a frozen BC transfer. I don't know if my version of air force blue is anywhere near correct, but hopefully no one noticed!!!

Meatwad from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Made for a coworker's birthday. Used the round ball cake pan, made the stout chocolate cake recipe I found on CC and chocolate buttercream icing. If I hadn't accidently put my finger in the wording when I picked up the board, it would have been perfect :)

This was made for a man's 90th birthday; he is retired from the Air Force and had flown a B-47 Stratojet in WWII, so his niece asked me to incorporate those elements into the theme. I found a die cast model of the exact plane he flew and used that as a topper. 6", 9" & 12" rounds decorated in butter cream with fondant stars and drape. First time for fondant drape; it was tricky and had a few flaws, but overall I think it came out ok. TFL!

I made this cake for a service man who was being commissioned into the Air Force. I am very patriotic, so I tried to use as much red/white/blue as possible. :) BC w/fondant accents for Air Force and stripe emblems.

I made this for my son's 9th birthday. He had an army party. I used plastic army men/trucks, so it was really easy.

For a friend who's a F-15 crew chief's going away. First time making an aircraft, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Turned out pretty good, all the guys loved it. And a drunk idiot at the party actually ate the jet!! I would put more details on next time though. Close-up on the F-15 will be posted as well. Thanks for looking.

gray areas = cake cruffles (truffles/balls) -- hint -- instead of balls -- roll out into a sheet about 1/2 in thick and use a star cookie cutter -- then dip in chocolate or yellow candy melts -- scatter stars around the finished cake.

This is just a picture of the Air Force Academy logo I made for the cake. The cake was a sheet cake with names on it. That part really isn't interesting. :)

This cake was done for my husband's job for a going away party. The top of the hat is RKT iced and covered in Fondant and the bottom half of the hat is cake covered in fondant with fondant details. The main cake base is a marble cake covered with fondant icing. My first time covering cake with fondant (even though it was just a small cake) Love Love Love it although it was a challenge.

Yellow cake with Cream Cheese frosting. The stripes are colorflow. I set them on mini marshmallows so that the moisture wouldn't get to them.

NFSC w/ Antonia74's RI. I made these cookies for my nephew who is graduating from Officer's School in the Air Force and is going to be stationed in Florida (hence the flamingos and sun). This was my feeble attempt at making the Air Force logo. I also sent him some of the Easter cookies I recently posted. Thanks for looking!
