The fleur de lis is chocolate that I used a cookie cutter to make, the "T" is for the girls initial for whom I made the cake.

Wanted to share my version of a purse and shoe since they both had some unique/difficult properties. The purse is a LV Fleur De Jais - which has a black floral pattern (with some grey) and sequins. I made the purse, then painted black & grey in the pattern. For sequins, I bought gelatin sheets, hole punched them and added lustre dust and black glitter. I then painted the LV logo on the cake. Should probably have painted the logos first and then gone over them with the black because it was difficult since much of the logo pattern was covered partially. (I was afraid of the gold luster dust coming through the black, though.). For the shoe, I had a hard time finding the best way to make a closed toe (which I find so much more difficult!). I bought a cheap shoe to use as my model and to dry my base (thanks PinkCakeBox turorial). After that dried, I sculpted the toe area out of Sculpey clay and saran wrapped it. I used this "mold" to dry a piece of gum paste on top. One my gum paste mold toe area was dry, I attached it to my shoe base. After good and dry, I was able to wrap the shoe in 1 piece of gum paste for the shoe top. My gum paste toe mold" underneath was a perfect support for the over laying shoe cover. Hope this makes sense! Thanks for looking!

I made this cake for my oldest daughter, Lisa for her birthday. The whole party was a black and white french theme. Cake was 10, 8 & 6 in made in french vanilla covered in a french vanilla buttercream. I painted the zebra stripes, used an pattern press for the swirly and fleur de lis. I used a diamond template for top layer and added fleur de lis' free handed between the diamonds. Silk red rose on top is fake.

I have mixed feelings about this cake... I love the colors, and my roses came out pretty good for only having done them once before on a smaller scale, but it isn't as clean as I would have liked it to be. My neighbor asked me to make it at 3pm on Friday & have it done by 7pm on Saturday. I wish I had more time to make it perfect. All in all, I love the design of it :) TFL!!

Small two tier wedding cake. All fondant with gumpaste orchids that were airbrushed in different shades of purple. cake was also airbrushed in pearl. The cake is sitting atop of a custom cupcake tower. Lighting was really orange-y so the purple didn't look too great in the picture....much better in person.

6/8/10/14 inch tiers all iced in BC and covered in MMF. Top tier is chocolate almond cake with chocolate ganache/coconut filling, then butter cake with apple/homemade caramel filling, then lemon cake with white chocolate ganache/lemon curd filling, then WASC with French vanilla BC/strawberry filling. Flowers (callas and roses) are gumpaste, and the fleur de lis are gumpaste that I covered in silver glass beads.

Son was enamored of the 3 Musketeers and all things fleur de lis. Found a coloring page for the pattern. Very simple.

fondant covered and then molded leaves cover the bottom tier, and reverse applied leaves cover the top tier with a Fleur de Lis gumpaste topper. The bottom tier was 100 leaves and the top tier was 40 leaves. Thank you to the Sweet Southern Ladies for the techniques in this cake

This was inspired by a photo the bride brought me from somewhere...After I got into the piping (lots of dots!), I realized it reminded me a pretty French wallpaper from a palace somewhere :) Loved how it turned out, and so did they. Bottom tier was a 15" dummy, the rest was 6, 9, 12".

This three tiered wedding cake was for a couple who got married in New Orleans and had their reception later at home. Fondant covered cakes with gumpaste fleur de lis placed onto black ribbon. Beads of buttercream to finish it off. My first real wedding cake...stressful but great to see the couple's reaction.

I am still new to making topsy turvy cakes. I am trying to figure out why mine don't quite look as cool as others I've seen. Any advice would be appreciated.

Second attempt at a topsy-turvy cake... they're harder than they look! I had a rough time with this one, but in the end it turned out pretty cute. The feathers really make the cake! The whole cake was fudge marble filled and frosted with buttercream icing and then covered and decorated with fondant.
