This cake is my representation of a similar cake. A co-worker wanted a cake for her daughter's birthday and she was including the entire softball team. She saw this one and thought it would be perfect. I cannot remember the name of the poster, however, "Thank you" for sharing your photo and inspiring others. The girls loved it!

First a thank you to JaneK for telling me how she did the sheep on a cake she posted earlier. Wanted to try something fun for a friend's birthday and just loved this idea. The cake is chocolate with BC icing. The sheep are fondant and RI. The rocks, path and tiny flowers are fondant. Thanks again JaneK.

This was my first attempt at an artistic cake for my husbands 27th birthday. I used two 8x8 square pans, dyed the white icing green, used wheat thins covered in white icing for the bases, and graham cracker pieces.

I did this cake for my CUBS-obsessed bf's birthday. It was my first time attempting to use fondant as well as multi tiers. I had a little trouble with the larger cake bulging at the seam, but other than that I'm reallyh happy with the way it turned out. Cake is chocolate and buttercream, and topper is fondant and royal icing. Thanks for looking!

This was a groom's cake for a HUGE Hokie fan and the man that a very good friend of mine is marrying. Neither of them knew what the cake was going to look like, just that it would be a Hokie theme. All BC, Hokie bird is FBCT. I had 2 field goals made out of MMF, but they didn't hold up under the strain. They really would've finished out the cake though.

I made this for my son's end of the season party. 11X15 sheet w/ball pan with BC icing.. I didn't have graham crackers so I improvised and used cinnamon toast crunch cereal for the sand on the field. I made NFSC and put all the players names on them.

This cake was done for my nephew's end of the season cookout. The cake is chocolate with hot fudge filling covered in buttercream. The baseball is covered in fondant. The dirt is graham cracker crumbs and the bases are fondant. The penants on the top of the cake are each of the team members names. The coaches names are on the two penants on the front corner of the cake. Thank you Bturpin for the inspiration.

This cake was so fun to bake!! I took ideas from other CCer's posts and my son helped me design this one for my nephews team party. This is my first time using piping gel to decorate with and I really didn't like the look of the red stitching on the ball at all - I'll try something different next time. Anyhow I love the rest of the cake. Cake is 2 layers devils food and 2 layers golden yellow with chocolate chips (very good combo). Still a newbie, will love all suggestions and comments. Thanks.

Here is the side view of my baseball team party picture I have posted. This is my first try at the pinprick method. It worked real well. I really learned a lot doing this cake and it was fun. I just freehanded the bats and the southeast. I felt those were too small to try to pinprick. I'm not happy with the gel on the baseball, but I will try something different next time. Still new to decorating, I would love all comments and suggestions. Thanks.

1/3 chocolate, 1/3 vanilla, 1/3 marble cake. Ravens football helmet, jersey, and Ravens field. This was fun to make - I had wanted to do the end zone and the center patch as FBCT, but I didn't have enough time. Edible images for end zone, helmet, jersey, and center field. I made a face mask for the helmet from gumpaste, but it broke at the last minute, so I ended up using pipe cleaners. Looked okay, but not what I'd planned!

Second view of cake - inserted pipecleaner goal posts, too. This was fun - I was expecting disasters and lots of problems - would love to refine it and do another one.

This is a cake I did for my twins when they turned 4. One was into tractors, and the other horses. My daughter still loves horses. It was a simple but fun cake to make. The second cake I've ever done.

Our new neighbor's little daughter told her mother that she wanted a birthday cake from me about 2 weeks after they moved in. Guess my feeding them practise cookies and cake scraps paid off

Anyway she has this little plastic horse that she's forever carrying around, and woe betide anyone, when she can't find it, so I took that horse and painted him on a gumpaste plaque and gave him his own green field.

The soccer ball was 2 halves (using 1/2 soccer ball pan) of white cake with BC icing. (Caution ~ the lines on that pan do not match up for a full 3-D soccer ball!) The bottom was 1/2 chocolate & 1/2 white baked in a hexagon pan. They are decorated in BC icing. The names are all RI painted with white Luster Dust. The stars are foamcore covered in Fancy Foil. The center dowel goes through all layers.

This is for a co-worker who is leaving to be colorado state trooper. The scene is a trooper doing a Field Sobriety Test. Base cake is chocolate WASC cake with ganache filling. Outside frosted/decorated with buttercream. I was going to use fondant to cover the base but i ran out, so I had do buttercream (you can see the white crumb coat underneath the blue ;( Figures are fondant and cars are from walmart.

Chocolate cake/buttercream frosting. I used a cupcake top for the baseball. This was for my fiance's nephew's 2nd bday. Of course it was on my lap and on the way when I realized I put the "2" on first base instead of second! Oh well, nobody said anything. Oh and I love my grass tip -- camoflauges a multitude of sins!
