These cakes are covered in buttercream. The animals and clothes on the clothesline are made from MMF. This was only my second major order (outside of my family) so I am still learning. There were a lot of mistakes that I made in the process. Hopefully each one will get better.

This little guy was fun to make and a lot easier than I thought it would be. I loosely followed the directions from Kate Sullivan book. He was for the top of a ball cake for a circus themed cake (another idea from Kate) that I will post later. I actually think he came out better than the whole darn cake! Oh well...I'll keep trying!!!

I made this for my nephew's first bday. 10-inch & 6-inch rounds iced in buttercream. Decorations are fondant, gumpaste, and buttercream. Waterfall is piping gel over buttercream. HUGE thanks to Kelleykakes: her beautiful jungle cake inspired the waterfall and I copied (tried, anyway) her wonderful fondant elephant, hippo and monkeys. The parrots are gumpaste painted with Americolors.
There was a smash cake too, but I don't have a pic yet.

My first vegetarian cake. Eggless cake made with recipe from CC. Elephants are eggless semolina cookies decorated with poured cookie icing. Cake decorated with BC and Smarties (similar to M&M's). Cake inspired by a design in the Wilton 2007 year book.

My take on the WBH Safari cake. Cake is 9" banana cake with Bavarian cream filling, iced in IMBC. Decorated with chocolate transfers. Got a bit crowded on top, tried to re-arrange some of the transfers and messed up the buttercream, next time I will go for the less is more approach.

This is a dummy cake we did for a show and we've been taking it with us when we've given talks. Its a little beat up. It is a 16, 12, and 8 round dummy covered in buttercream with fondant accents and animals. The bottom side of the cake is the aquarium (cut out fish, sharks and turtles), above is the Africa exibit (lion, zebra, 2 elephants), then the polar exibit (penguins, polar bear, 2 seals), and jungle on top (monkey and giaraffe). There was a small water area on the back side w/ hippo and alligator

Latest Baby shower cake. First time w/ this theme. First time doing FBCT, had a small amount of difficulty, but not bad. Elephant and Giraffe are the FBCT, monkey in tree is BC piped. Yellow cake with BC frosting. Constructive criticism WELCOMED! I would've liked to add more color I think...???

This is an adaptation of Wilton's Amazing Amazon cake. Cake is a peaches and cream cake with vanilla bc filling and icing. Animals and leaves are fondant. Grass is bc. The animals were a bit of a pain to make but it was my first time making any type of figures and I'm happy with how they turned out. I'll post a pic of all the animals. The surface of each tier looks wavy in the photos but did not in person. I don't know why that happens.

Birthday cake, first paying customer since I've been back in Oz. Two teir, double layer, brownie cake with chocolate buttercream layers and covering. Flake's used as outer layer. Animals all hand made from fondant and or gumpaste. Very excited to do this cake as the animals were great fun to practice and do.
Huge thankyou to socake for this order as she was away on holiday and couldn't do it.

Decorated in all RI. I made these for a baby shower with a safari theme. The animals lack some character but I'm working on trying to give them more personality.

I made it during my son's birthday. I used marshmallow fondant (easiest for beginner's, I assure you) & cocoa to achieve the chocolatey color. I used marzipan for the seal, elephant & the clown. I put 2 marzipan roses behind the clown. It's a real hit, the disappeared like magic.

This is a caramel mud and two tiers of white coconut mud cake(both Boonenati's recipes) covered in ganache and Fondx. The Lakshmi on top is made from modelling paste and the face was done using Aine2's models as inspiration, the elephants were made from fondant, using a template then hand painting the details and sticking on an ear, the paisleys are gumpaste painted with gold lustre and alcohol, the stars are royal icing painted gold, the lace panels are made withan FMM cutter and painted with gold.

I made this for a friend that was having a jungle themed baby shower. Thanks to cindycakes2 for the inspiration. Everything is buttercream icing except for the fondant rocks beside the water and the figurines. I brushed blue tinted piping get over the water to give it that wet look.

Made for a White Elephant gift exchange for Christmas. Mocha Cheesecake from WBH (minus the chocolate chips). Elephant is a chocolate transfer. Too bad it was sleeting that night and the party got cancelled - we had to eat it all ourselves! :-)

I made this cake for a little girls 1st birthday. The elephant is a huffalump from Whinnie the Pooh and is made in to a FBCT. I made the elephant a few months ago out of chocoate for a trail run, but decided to do it as a FBCT cause I like them better.

I made this cake for my sister's baby shower. They are doing the baby boy's nursery with a safari theme, so I based the entire shower off that idea. The cake is filled with the absolutely scrumptious whipped chocolate ganache filling from this website, and covered in MMF. All the animals and the trees are made by hand out of chocolate clay; the grass and water are buttercream.

This was copied from the birthday girl's invitation that had a pink elephant with hearts spewing out his trunk, and the enevelope had the green and white polka dots. The small hearts are from a heart muffin tin covered in thinned royal icing, the bigger heart was the birthday girl's smash cake. The hearts were vanilla almond and the elephant was chocolate chocolate chip, all buttercream, except the tail.
