This is my DD's 4th birthday cake. She kept changing her mind, from Winnie the pooh, to My Little Pony and finally settled on a figure of herself! I also incoporated some of her favourite toys and her 3 favourite colours. It was a rush job as we only got back from a 2 week holiday, 2 days before her birthday, but she said she loved it! The cake is an 8" double chocolate cake with 3 layers of whipped ganache filling - white, milk and dark - yum!

Top of DD's 4th birthday cake. It looks nothing like her! I made her wearing her pyjamas (her fav outfit!) and some of her favourite toys (Aine2's elephant tutorial came in very handy!).

Made to match birthday boy's favorite stuffed animal. All MMF. Elephant body is cake with RKT head / trunk / feet. I put straws through feet & into base cake to keep the weight of the body from crushing the feet. I brushed Wilton silver shimmer dust all over the elephant because to match the material on the actual toy and it makes some areas of the pic look like the MMF was to thin in spots.

4-8" square cakes iced in buttercream with hand cut fondant decorations to match provided NOJO JUNGLE wall hangings that were purchased for the baby's room. (Picture of wall hangings is actually on my website if you are interested). Baby shower theme revolved around the Nojo Jungle bedding.

Made for a woman whose father runs a Sri Lankan Wildlife preserve, lots of family and coworkers were going to be there so they wanted something not too cutesy or crazy, but definitely with elephants. Red velvet cake with buttercream frosting.

I submitted a picture of this earlier, but I've added some more embellishments. I hope I deleted the other one! Anyway, this was inspired by Cakery's 'baby animals'. Chocolate amaretto cake with amaretto BC. I forgot to take the toothpicks out before I had taken the picture!! TFL!

While looking through Dumbo coloring pages, my DD says, "I want my cake to look like THAT for my 5th birthday!" So, here it is! 2-8x3's stacked, covered in BC, then fondant, hand painted. Fondant bubbles, water in tub is RI, spilled water at base is poured sugar, as well as water spout (wires dipped into sugar solution.) Dumbo is RKT covered in RI, then fondant. Ears are fondant/gum paste mixture. Fun to do and she LOVED it!

This was the first decorative cake I ever made, I got the design from a book. It was the first time I ever made fondant so it isn't quite perfect, but it was still fun making it.

This is a cake I made for a couple who did not know what they were having. Covered in buttercream. Decorations are all fondant. I placed the decorations on top of a "blanket" to keep the buttercream off so that they could keep them.

My neice's 2nd birthday and she loves her "Henry" silkie blankie, as well as Backyardigans. Her mom decided on both for the cake. I had planned to make the decorations from fondant but mom likes the look and taste of buttercream much better. The colors came out bolder than I had intended but that was great. BTW, Tahitian vanilla is much better tasting.

Double layer darn good chocolate cake on bottom 9". Triple layer white chocolate 6" cakes on top. Both covered with MMF, and accented with fondant dots, balls, and fondant animals. Inspired by a cake here...can't remember who, but I'll find it and give proper credit soon.
