This was a 10" cake for a girl who loved everything on this cake. It was last minute so I had to turn to cupcake pics. I did have time to make the gumpaste rainbow and some flowers. She liked it and was happy to keep the trinkets on the cake!

This is a chocolate pound cake, iced with buttercream, and covered with marshmallow fondant. Then I hand painted the sea life with gel color and vodka. The stand is a small glass fish bowl with nerds for rocks, gumpaste seaweed, and a toy fish. Made this cake for my mother-in-law's birthday.

Birthday cake for my niece. Inspired by Carol Deacon's party cakes. My niece loves dolphins and my husband was sweet enough to paint it for me. Food coloring and edible markers were used for the decorations.

This cake was for a girl who turned 8. She originally wanted a beach cake but by the time I was finished it was more like an ocean. I took a few ideas from cakes here. The girl loved it. Bottom is 2 8" round white oreo cake and top is 6" chocolate cake. Fondant dolphins and candy for the rest. Thanks everyone here for all the ideas!!

This cake was for my niece. It's the result of a 7 year old's imagination! The instructions were....waterslide, ocean and pink dolphins. Better than her original order of Justin Bieber and herself riding a pink dolphin! :-) Two layer 12x18 sheet cake. The waterslide is made from rice krispie treats covered in fondant.

This very lucky 8-year old birthdaygirl desperately wanted a dolphin on her cake. She just loves the ocean theme so I decided to be a little more creative... and added just a few more details... like... the mermaid, baby dolphin, turtle, coral and.. more. Her parents came to pick up the cake and were just stunned and the birthday girl herself was thrilled. She called me the next day and said it was even better than she could have ever imagined in her most beautiful dreams. Quite a compliment! Needless to say I just had a blast making this cake. A Lemon Delight with Sweet lemon filling (own recipes), decorated with fondant. All the ocean figurines are also made out of fondant. The centerpiece is made out of wood, covered in fondant. The mermaid is partly a Barby doll (as a gift to the B-day girl). Comes with matching cupcakes! Thanx for looking!

The local cake club had an Hawaiian themed potluck and I made these to be raffled off. All handcut from MMF mixed with Tylose. 7 Characters, 8 Starfish, 2 Shells, 39 Flowers and a Palm Tree with Coconuts! I glued each piece with piping gel to parchment paper and layered them in a box with tissue paper. I also included a sketch of a cake they can make to use these on. TFL!

A cake I made for my twin nieces who love Ariel. A 14 in round marble cake covered in buttercream and royal icing. Ariel was a toy from a Walmart kit bought by the mother. Little gold dolphin was a toy ring stuck down in the cake. (It's riding the wave in the top right hand corner) Castle was printed from the internet, put together, colored & laminated.
