Tiered cake for my daughters birthday. Polly pocket - swimming theme. I used sugar wafer cookies around the top 6" layer and of course the plastic dolls.

These cakes were made for our son and a friend's little girl on their first birthdays. I like to make the cupcake doll for little girls smash cakes, this was my first one. We used the lego containers from baby wipes to wrap his gifts in. I have learned a few things since these cakes. (still have a long way to go)

This was my first doll cake. Instead of using a doll pick to stick in the top, I used a real doll and wrapped her in plastic wrap. I used a rose tip to make the ruffles all over the dress. It was actually pretty easy!

Each castle tier has an edible picture of the b'day girl. The top of the castle has a crown. Each cake separator was created by me specifically for this cake with shiny beads. All long the sides are chocolate castle lollipops in pink, blue and purple. The scenery has trees and some unicorns as well. Each cake is a different flavor.

This was our first attempt at a doll cake. It was the funniest cake to do! The dress was formed by a cake made in a Pampered Chef large batter bowl with a cupcake placed on top. It was decorated with Buttercream frosting. It was for a girl's 4th birthday, who just loved it!

This is the first doll cake I have done. I wanted to put the Barbie in the cake but she was too tall. I guess I could have collered the pan and got the cake itself tall enough to do it, but I was out of mix, so I just put the Barbie next to the cake. I did try to get the dress on the cake to match the outfit Barbie is wearing, I think I did a pretty good job at it.

This cake is for a 14yr old, who has dyed her hair black, has black fingernails and wears black tops, but does combine her clothes with a lot of colour in her skirts or trousers. Apparently a fashion trend. Her mother teases her a lot and wanted this cake for her birthday as a surprise. They just moved to China and this girl hasn't made any friends yet, so that the family will eat the cake alone. Hopefully she'll like the surprise, she doesn't know that the cake has been ordered.

Another cake for my niece a few years ago. I used a batter bowl for the dress. This was a white cake with almond bc. I had no idea back then that cake decorating would become an obsession.

This is a doll cake I did today for a lady at church. I was nervous about this cake because this is my first doll cake. She is decorated in all buttercream. I really enjoyed making this one and was pleased with how it turned out.

Made for my Brother's Wedding. It's Mixed Berry Pound Cake from the Williams-Sonoma website. It's not supposed to be so shiny, but it ended up in the cooler and formed condensation when brought to room temp. :( It was matte with super pearl dust brushed all over the skirt. Thanks to spottydog for help with the scalloped skirt edge :)

This cake was ordered for a little girl who loves the Bratz dolls. I made a Bratz cake on last year for her birthday and this year she wanted another Bratz cake. I was not too pleased with the way this one turned out but the little girl was very pleased. I got my idea from several cakes that I seen on this wonderful site.
