These were so fun to make! I made these for my great niece's birthday. She is taking these to her school but I will be making other type of puppy cupcakes and a cake for her birthday party.

My sister helped me do these. It was her first time every trying to do any cake decorating. We had fun together.

This is the cake for my niece's 6th birthday party tomorrow. The colors of her puppy party are purple and lime green so that's the colors of the house. The dogs are candles.

Did cupcakes to go along with the cake

First 3-D sculpted cake. Tried to look up the instructions for a maltese cake, but the link didn't work, so I had to 'wing it'. This was a rushed job, about 2 1/2 hours. Given more time, I could've done better.

My daughter wanted a dog--Cars--bowling cake, and this was the only way I could make it work. Bottom layer is chocolate, middle layer is French vanilla, and top is chocolate. Butter cream icing. Nothing fancy for taste but the kids loved it.

This birthday cake is for my husband's boss who loves rat terriers. Devil's food pound cake with dark chocolate chips - yum! I "buried" a bone next to the doghouse and added a bowl of "water" as well. I had to change out the birthday ribbon after I took this picture because the red icing bled through - oops

My son (5) had a dalmation party. He has a stuffed toy (dalmation dog), called Mo-mo which I copied. The cake is chocolate with plastic icing. I ran out of icing to do the base, so unfortunately had to make do with tin foil.

This was my first attempt at cake decorating. I think it turned out great. The dog was made of yellow and chocolate cake. All the icing is chocolate. The ears were made of molding foil that was then iced.

The cake is made from two wondermolds and some round cakes. The fondant is painted by hand, and I really need to get an airbrush!! The customer really wanted a blanket witht the dog, so I did a diamond pattern with a fringe.

This is my entry for the AZ Cake Show for 2007. It's 6", 10" and 14" rounds covered in buttercream. Royal icing snowflakes, icicles, bc bead borders all painted with pearl dust. Fondant polar bear on skiis & ski hill, igloo, penguins, snowman, skiis & poles, husky dogs, dog sled with hat, mittens and scarf. Blue swirl thing on the side of the top tier is suppose to represent the Northern Lights. Show theme is " On The Move" so I hoped this cake represents some things that move in winter.

After I made the firetruck cake for my nephew, I learned that there would be 85 people at the party! UH OH, truck was not going to feed all those people. So I had to make another cake quick so I stayed with the fire theme and drew a dalmation puppy on the cake. Fire Truck Candles and we were in!

This is my 2nd Monster truck cake. I made these out of rice krispy treats. It was easier, but I like the look of pound cake better.

This was donated to a rally day the club had to help raise funds for the Siberian Husky rescue. The dog is hand sculpted out of fondant & coloured with edible dust colouring. I'm a bit disappointed in the photo because he looks really flat & the head actually stood out from the cake.

Sue Dye posted one of these that she had done while messing around. I absolutely love it and wanted to make a couple of them for my kids for Valentine's Day. They are made from strawberry cake and buttercream. Eyes and nose are mini chocolate chips and tongue and pink bow are fondant. The brown bow and bones are made from Bubble Yum Chocolate Bubble Gum.

I made this cake for my neice. I used several cakes on this site for inspiration. I used store bought fondant and to make the dog I started with a loaf pan. The rest is just formed and built up with icing. I'm new at this stuff and had a few set backs, but all in all I had so much fun with this project!
