I was inspired by Goonegirl's blue crayon. These cakes were done for my twin godsons birthday. Whenever asked what color for anything Tay says green and Ty says orange. Everything is cake except the tips which are RKT.

This was actually a cake for the 10th anniversary of an educational consulting company, not a school. I borrowed this cake idea from a girl named Melanie. Her cake was green on the bottom and her work was impeccable.

I did this cake for my nephew James, who turned 3. When I asked what he wanted he said colors. It is covered in fondant with icingimage sheets on top that where run through my edible ink printer, then I "colored" the page with petal dusts. The crayons and boxes are made of fondant. The crayons have edible image sheets wrapped around each one.

Cake is a 2 tier, round cake using buttercream icing and fondant accents. (I'm still working on getting my buttercream completely smooth, esp. around the edges!) Bottom tier is made using 'mossy green' icing w/ crayon accents. Top tier is chalkboard black w/ fondant numbers and letters on side; fondant apple, chalk, and eraser. This cake was made for Teacher Appreciation Week at my children's school.

This was my very first stacked cake. It started out at my house as a three cakes high, but after a couple of miles the middle cake became a disaster! So when I got to my preschool, I took off the top layer, scraped off the middle cake and place the top cake on the bottom. Thank goodness I had brought extra buttercream to patch it up. Nobody knew the difference! We served the middle layer in pieces from the kitchen! 10" cake was chocolate w/chocolate fudge, 8" was white w/blueberry cream fill & bc, top cake was white w/lemon curd fill & lemon bc. The decorations are color flow. Thanks for looking.

This cake was for my daughter's preschool teachers at their end of the year picnic. The top layer is WASC with lemon, the middle is WASC with strawberry, and the bottom layer is chocolate with chocolate buttercream. I think they will like it. It is leaning but I think that it will make it! Let's hope anyways!!

Title says it all! This is a 2 layer 11x15 yellow cake with French Vanilla buttercream.
Wording is gumpaste, made the with funky alphabet cutters. All the little elements are made from fondant. The numbers on the side of the cake was made using a piece of scrapbooking paper and turning it into an edible image then placed on fondant.
The client sent me different photos of ideas she liked and this is what I came up with.

I made cakes for my son's teachers as gifts. The books are molded from rkt and the rest are mmf accents. I also made cupcakes for the class: each received a personalized mmf crayon on their cupcakes and the parents got the apple ones. The apple cupcake design was first inspired by the Hello Cupcakes! book, which they created a pumpkin version. However, I noticed a lot were done for apples here on this site when I did a quick search. The fondant crayons were inspired by my son's supply.

This was a VPK graduation cake for a preschool. The bottom is a 14" haxagon and the books were a 9X13 sheet pan cut in half. All white cake and buttercream covered in fondant. I used the duff fondant for the red book and I have mix feelings regarding the product. It taste great however the fondant is hard and even when I placed it in the micowave it was still a bit stiff. Possibly great for figures but it's pricey. ($24.00 for 2lbs-yikes) Thanks for looking.

These are cookies I made for my daughters teachers for an end of the year gift. They are vanilla sugar with a glaze. I tried to really personalize them as much as possible. I love how the packaging worked out - thanks to a tip from my Flickr cookie friend!

This cake was made for my sons' home child care center. They were celebrating the end of the school year. This year was especially special because several children were leaving to go to kindergarten this year. I was given a picture of all of them to try and incorporate into the cake. I ordered edible ink and frosting sheets and after several tries with the printer finally got a great edible picture to put on the cake. I made "crayons" for the side out of fondant with each child's name on it. They all loved it. The kids were surprised to see their pictures on the cake!
