Storybook for a 2 yr old girl. I was inspired by linstead's cake from the contest last month. (Thanks!) I carved an 11 x 15 cake into the book shape, covered with fondant & I used icing sheets to make the top pages of the book. I piped in the wording. All other decorations are fondant. Thanks for looking!

WASC, buttercream icing and strawberry filiing. Everyone loved it! Sorry you can't see the whole cake, but this was the best pic a have. Purse is rice krispies covered in fondant. First time doing the pin-prick method for the Cs(struggle!) and first time doing a gumpast zipper(another struggle!)...I made a mold of the zipper first. Also, first time doing the Veba method...that part I liked! :-)...Please give me feed back, gracias!!!

My first attempt at a Coach purse cake. Chocolate cake with fresh strawberries and frostin pride filling with cream cheese buttercream icing. This was not the most stable filling/icing to go under fondant; about two hours into decorating, I got a huge bubble on the front which turned out to be the icing sliding off. Had to smoosh out the extra and trim the excess fondant away. Hoping that it held together for the party...

So this cake was far more challenging to me than I thought it would be and surprisingly, it wasn't the purse.....it was the shoe box! Purse was done in about 3 hours and the darn shoe box took me easily 6-8 hours to complete. Mainly that was due to my own stupidity (fondant wasn't long enough) but I just couldn't get it to look right. After three attempts, what you see is what I settled on. Overall, I like the outcome. Shoe, Roses, Pearls, and Flowers are all gumpaste. Purse is Marble cake with chocolate filling covered in Satin Ice; Coach design was airbrushed on with Silver Luster. Shoe Box is Chocolate Cake with chocolate filling covered in Satin Ice. Martini glass is plastic but it's filled with red glitter gel.

This is a copy of a baby bag without the changing pad. I sprayed the pattern using a stencil using the Wiltons sprays. I made a few mistakes, but next time I will make stencil larger. TFL

My brothers girlfriend is a purse fanatic and she LOVES the color pink...so I made this cake for her 21st birthday last year. The cake was a margarita cake (going with the whole 21st birthday theme)...she loved it and that made me so happy! I think the zipper was my favorite part.

40th Birthday, her husband asked me to make a cake and this was the purse he was giving her, so with lots of inspiration from CC, I made this cake. Fondant covered, fondant accents. I pressed the C's into the fondant and dusted with luster dust. She loved it ! TFL.

This was a double chocolate cake with chocolate filling. It was covered in BC and Foundant. Each C was hand drawn with an ediable marker. My friend's husband asked me to make it for her birthday, he sent me a photo of her actual pruse, and I made it to match. She was completely taken back by it.

This is my first purse cake;...can you say nervous!?!? I'm still not done (have to put the C's on it today). It was extremely fun to do. Hope the birthday woman enjoys it! What do you think? I know I have some flaws that I need to work on.

My first purse birthday cake for a friend. Chocolate layer cake with amaretto buttercream, covered in chocolate fondant and Wilton black fondant. The pockets are made of extra cake I wrapped in fondant, then "glued" onto the finished cake with royal icing (supported by toothpicks in case they fell). The black strap is just black ribbon--I'd made a ribbon out of fondant that broke the morning of, and didn't have time to make a new one. The gold hardware is just white fondant, painted with gold pearl dust mixed with orange extract.

I have always wanted to make a Coach purse cake. I did this for my own birthday to try it out. The C's and logo were painted on with gold dust and the cake was covered with white modelling chocolate and that's what all of the hardware, handles and detail work were made from.

One of these days I will have the time and energy to add more detail to my purse cakes! I'd like to see more hardware and a pocket or two... In this case I wasn't making a profit and being sleep-deprived already I took a break.

This cake was for my daughter's 3rd birthday party and all she wanted was a Cinderella party! :) The base cake is a 9x13 chocolate cake and the coach is a white butter cake made from the sports ball pan. All the icing is vanilla butter cream. The rose topping the coach is made from gum paste and the coach wheels are made from chocolate. Cinderella and her mice friends (Jaq and Gus) are toys. Made this cake for a friend's wife for Mother's Day. It's a replica of her purse. Vanilla cake with light raspberry mousse baked in a 9X13 cut into thirds, stacked, and carved. Used MMF to cover and on some of the details. Hand painted the design. So fun. I think this is one of my favorites.

Fondant covered and fondant accents. This one took quite a while to make, but it didn't prove to be as difficult as I thought. I made the C's by cutting one from cardboard and made impressions on the fondant. This time I covered each side of the cake with the fondant separately versus trying to cover the entire cake and then add the details. I used an embosser to make the stitching and painted the C's after the outlines were stitched.

This was for a Bridal Shower, coach was carved and fondant accents added. Painted with super pearl dust. Sorry to say the horses and people were plastic. Tacky...... I don't know if I like the trim but that's what they ordered. Idea from a CCer.
