The original version of this cake had the tier with the seals on it in front actually stacked on the center cake, but due to extreme heat (especially in the back of the tent) and humidity outside within 15 minutes of setting the cake up the satin ice just started melting causing the cake to start leaning. We got it inside before the whole thing went, took it apart and let it cool and harden back up. Reassembled leaving the one tier out. Took it out 5 minutes before ready to sing this time.

This too was in a Wilton book. Turned out pretty cute. It's a double layer daisy pan. I took A LOT of chocolate frosting to get that hairy look with a star tip. But it was worth it.

I was very honored when the rep from Make-A-Wish called and asked me to do a cake for a little boys birthday. It was so much fun to do. I think it is awesome what they do for those children. Thanks for looking.

I did a circus theme for my sons 3rd birthday. I saw this cake on Sugar Creations and loved it. I just added clowns, lion and a seal. The popcorn is marshmallows. I wanted the top tier look like it was falling over with the popcorn spilling out. I should have made a clown on the opposite side trying to push it over. Thought of that the day of the party.

A clown and 3 ducks?!? It's an inside joke thing requested by a friend.
The cake is chocolate with caramel filling, covered in vanilla buttercream. Decorations are modeled from fondant.

We had a clown party for my daughter's 5th birthday. This cake was a lot of fun to make. But my filling is busting out of the top layer a little. I will have to remedy for next time.

This cake was for a circus-themed first birthday. Iced in BC and border
is BC. Decorations/figures are made out of fondant. You cannot see the
animals since they are all around: lion, elephant, tiger and lion. I will post
a separate picture for them. Popcorn is marshmallows. Found the instructions for the 'popcorn' in one of the forums - thank you to the CC author (not sure of the name). Thanks for looking

My first cake class project was a whimsy cake. I really love vivid, bright colors, so I chose the primaries and this is how it came out. It truly was a coincidence that it was Dr. Suess' Birthday. ;-)

Lots of inspiration from other cakes on CC. Iced in buttercream with fondant accents. Popcorn is mini marshmallows, cut, and sprayed with a bit of yellow. This is my first cake that turned out almost exactly like I wanted it to! AND it was super yummy!!!

Did this pretty much as a favor for someone, I'm not super happy with it, but its ok. I have a previous George cake but it was requested to be like the older George rather than the movie George, so to some it may not look as recognizable. So at least this one is maybe more "younger generation" friendly.

Carnival/Circus themed party 1st birthday cake. I used a carousel 2-layer kit with 16" and 12" cakes. I used confetti cake miz and frosting, piped on clown bodies and her name. The clown heads and balloons I picked up at the craft store. On top I placed an edible candy Happy Birthday with balloons and made dots for the borders. Make sure to use wooden dowels inside the bottom cake to support the layer.

these were made using an ice cream cone cookie cutter turned upside down. I completely underestimated the time it would take to make these and I stayed up all night making 80 clowns! This was my first time makinsg more than a few dozen and I learned my lesson to start early!
Here was my inspiration- I ended up copying them almost exactly because I lost my imagination at around 2 AM

This was my entry for the Kansas State Fair (and our county fair). I got first place at both fairs in my category! This was also my first topsy turvy cake. A real learning experience. It's all fondant covered with fondant/gumpaste animals. Oh, in the state fair, I wasn't able to use the banner due to height restrictions. Thanks for looking!

Idea for "momma elephant" from the 1996 Wilton Yearbook; "baby elephant" from local CC'er (thank you). Cuddly Bear stand up pan; ears cut off and replaced with cardboard/fondant covered elephant ears. All other buttercream icing. Marshmallow hands. Dowel rod inserted into cake for trunk and built up with bc. TFL!

This was a cake for quintuplets turning 5. There was a tent for each child, and the batter inside was colored to match. The cones were actually birthday hats that the kids could wear.

I made this cake for a school's family fun night with a circus theme. I hand molded the charachters out of rice crispy treats then overlayed them with different colors of fondant. It was a huge hit!

My eleven year old son made this cake all by himself for a school cake decorating contest. he came in second place! He formed the car out of rice crispy treats and overlayed it with fondant. He then hand molded the clown charachters. He also used food coloring markers, and skittles to decorate.
