I don't like my first wedding cake at all. So many imperfections and mistakes. I'm glad i got it done though. Made my teacher(who was the bride) very happy! The wedding was done a couple weeks ago. The wedding was on Saturday October 15th.

I made this in my Wilton's class... The entire class had terrible trouble with our royal icing and all our color flow died a very sad death... But I came home and made the beautiful butterfly then dropped my royal flowers and my color flow butterfly on the flower it was rather sad... But my teacher assisted and the basket weave is perfect...

This cake was designed to look "just like" the cowboy hat my neighbor's Dad wears. He almost picked it up to put on...before realizing that it wasn't real. Boy, oh boy, was he surprised. I even captured the worn-out, beaten look. Although I must admit, this one smelled a whole lot better! LOL!!!

This is my first photo here. This cake was donated to a Katrina fundraiser at my husband's office. The winning bidder requested a yellow birthday cake with chocolate icing to celebrate a triple family birthday -- 2 men and a woman. The leaves are piped candy melts, the icing is chocolate IMBC.

This was for my cousins Halloween/Birthday Party. It is chocolate cake with chocolate pastry cream and chocolate buttercream. I airbrushed darker brown over the icing. The letters were done ahead of time with Royal Icing. The fingers are aluminum foil wrapped in gumpaste strips. The ghosts, RIPs, bones, and eyeballs are gumpaste or fondant.

I'm amazed at how different the frosting looks in two cakes. Really looks like two different colors.. live and learn. Will do all basketweave next time! Devil's food cake, chocolate buttercream icing, royal flowers. Wanted a fall look....needed to experiment with the tiers. Don't like the look of the white posts and the frosted crystal plate. Will do THAT different next time too. Amazing what a picture can teach you!!!!

What a lot of work! Yikes!!

Mini vanilla cupcakes with handmade pink gumpaste flowers with edible pearl centres & mini chocolate cupcakes with piped chocolate hearts.

Had to make 850 individual petals to create the pink flowers. My hand will never be the same again!!

This cake was chocolate layers with chocolate buttercream. Sugared grapes - they were so yummy! I had never done the sugared grapes and the texture and flavor is great! Had a little mishap on the front corner - a friend stuck his thumb in it and I only had the darker icing to fix, therefore it looks darker.

This is a cake I made to go along with a baby shower cake. This was for a seven year old boy who was to be a big brother for the first time, so I just made a small 6" cake just for him. It is chocolate with chocolate icing. The letters on the front "JON" are his name, and were made with MMF (my first shot at it!). It was lots of fun, and he LOVED it!

Just finished this one. Bottom tier is a vanilla buttercake with vanilla buttercream filling, top tier is a chocolate buttercake with chocolate buttercream. 6inch top, 10inch base. Roses made with white chocolate paste, and bars on the side are solid white chocolate. The bride wanted the cake to tie in with her pink theme and that is why there is pink artificial flowers and the ribbon on it. Not happy about the artificial flowers, and just didnt have time to make them in sugarpaste.

I made 3 - 8 inch layers ( full) of Cake Mix Doctor's Darn Good Chocolate cake and filled and iced with buttercream. I used wax paper to smooth the edges but I was too tired to make it perfect. My sister didn't seem to mind my flaws. I'm still learning so the piping isn't perfect...but I used my new kitchenaid mixer and WOW is all I can say. Double bathes of cake and buttercream made SOOOOO easy~
