Captain Jack Sparrow figure, treasure chest, plants, island, shark fin, and banner made of fondant. Ocean is buttercream. This is the second "Pirates of the Carribean" themed cake I've made, I like this one better than the first. Still trying to figure out a way to add a palm tree (the leaves broke on the first two I tried).

This was my first attempt at a treasure chest (learned much). Chocolate cake iced in chocolate BC with fondant accents & the lid is made from rice crispy treats - thank you to the many treasure chest ideas on CakeCentral. In my husband's words, "I will charge much more for this cake next time." Thanks for looking!

I made this cake for my Son's 6th birthday. It was half of a loaf pan. I cut off a slice for the lid. I decorated the bottom with chocolate coins, perils, and rolos. Topped with the lid propped up with several toothpicks.

Another cooler of Bud Light. Didn't like this one as much since I was unable to buy the rock candy for the ice again. I did like the fondant birthday boy I made.

Thanks Connie for the great design. Made the chest from a modified tool box candy mold (chocolate) and the ship is just a printed image covered in contact paper and adhered to fondant with piping gel. (Still wishing for my edible image printer!) Edible pearls.

White cake with fudge chocolate frosting. The straps and lock are fondant. I didn't know about this site until after I made this cake or I would have used some of the clever ideas I had seen here. So many talented artists display their cakes here.

My neighbor throws wonderful parties. This cake was for her annual springtime "let's celebrate friendship" luncheon. Her theme this year was the treasure of friendship. She had treasure box centerpieces, plus so much more! The cake is covered with Pastry Pride. The treasure chest is a pound cake (loaf pan) covered with rolled fondant. I sliced the cake after covering it, added the detail, then slipped foil-covered chocolate coins under the lid. The writing and flowers are buttercream.

This cake was for my girlfirends daughter who was turning 2 this past weekend and just LOVES fish. Iced with buttercream with krispy treat fish on top covered with MMF. Fish on the side, crab and treasure chest are all MMF as well. It is hard to see from the photo, but there is a large piece of coral behind the fish that is also krispy treats covered in MMF and then covered with large white rock sugar.

This is one of 2 cakes for my daughter's princess and pirate birthday. This was my first time using fondant and it was a little tricky but worked well. The fondant is painted with a mixture of gel colors and lemon extract. It looks much shinier in the picture than it was in person.

Made for a co-worker's boys b-day. They had a pirate theme. She wanted a treasure chest after she saw the picture of the one I did for my son last year. It's chocolate cake with chocolate fudge frosting and mmf accents. The lid was rkt. The "booty" was candy and plastic necklaces, jolly ranchers for jewels, and gold nuggett bubble gum. Sand was crushed graham crackers.

I made this for my Husband's Surprise 41st bday. I did MMF, I will NEVER use that again! What a disaster! I will stick with regular fondant from now on. But I had to make the entire cake in 3 hours before he caught on, so all & all I was ok with it. He loved it!

This was my very first wet t-shirt cake. I had an incredibly hard time with this cake. The fondant was not intrested in being my friend, and really was just trying to suck my will to live. The client that this cake was for got a huge kick out of it as did everyone else at the party. Thanks for looking!
