A friend wanted this for her son. SHe gave a picture from Howsweetbakery and asked "for that truck" while I want to use for inspiration rather than copy she wanted that truck. So with that picture and inspiration from CC I made this. Fondant and gumpaste figures and accents.

Dr Who's arch nemesis, Dalek cake for an 18th Birthday. It is 16" tall and made from a 6" wide dome on top with a tapered 9" base. The cake is vanilla raspberry and is filled with jam and buttercream. I covered the cake in more buttercream and finally in fondant.
Everything is made from fondant and the only non edible items used are internal dowels and boards for structure. It was tough covering the base and I ended up using a wrap around method.

This cake is still my favourite one that i've made to date. It was a lot of work and took a long time, but I think it was well worth it in the end!

This cake was so much fun to make! As with all of my cakes, everything is edible, from the remote to the game CD! The CD was my favourite part because I hand painted the cover onto a gum paste disc I cut out using a real CD as a guideline.

This cake was based on the movie, "How to Train your Dragon". I made the dragon out of gum paste and fondant, and then used a marbling texture to get the mountain beneath to look like rock.

Chocolate fudge cake with choco syrup frosting and then covered with homemade fondant. It is 18 inches long and 7 inches wide. It was not quite finished yet when I took these photos. (I added some clumps of grass and tiny yellow flowers to the rocks, but have no photo of them.) The wheels are fondant-covered cookies with the hubcaps painted with edible silver. The mustang emblem on the front was cut by hand while looking at a picture on the internet. The licence plate tells whose birthday it is. The speed limit sign tells how old he is. Although the key is out of proportion, it is also made of fondant (mixed with gumpaste).

Made this for my friends son. It was a carved cake, with a pirate on the ship-had eye patch and peg leg, octopus in the ocean. Only thing not edile was the wooden poles and sails.

85th birthday cake. Mom and dad got this cookie jar for a wedding present 65 years ago. It is a treasured item that was only "cold painted", meaning the paint was not fired on, and very soon all the paint was washed off. Mom has repainted the colors on the cookie jar many times over the years. Our family sees that little chick as an icon. I carved the cake from memory because it was a surprise party. It is a towered cake, supported by two levels of support. Every third layer has the straws/cake board support. The head was built separate from the body and then placed on at the party. There is a dowel rod driven down the center of the body but not the head. Many of the guests thought it was part of the decorations. They had no ideat it was the cake until we got ready to cut it. On the second photo, the recipe cards and beehive measuring cups are made using tylose-added fondant and the writing on them is done with food color pens
