Airbrushed fondant with gumpaste fins. I think he looks a little cartoon-y (and overfed haha), but not too bad for my first fish :). The coolest part is that he's got a top and bottom layer of red velvet and a center layer of white (kinda like the bone) and there are gummy worms in the belly section!

A 4 year old little girl has always called the Tower of Americas in San Antonio the birthdaqy Tower because it looks like it has a cupcake on the top. For her 4th birthday the parents ordered the cake shaped like the tower. I placed an edible image of her in the window. The real tower is in the background for comparison.

First cake I did for someone other then my kids. I had seen several versions of this design here and when a co-worker asked me to do a shower cake I just had to try it. The umbrella pattern was matched to a diaper bag. I love the colors but thought it turned out kind of mushroom like. :)

This 3D carved cake was created to celebrate the birthday of a guy who loves Patron tequila. With edible images, fondant accents and a crisped rice treats for the neck and cork, the entire thing is edible. We photographed it next to the real bottle and box to show just how much it looks like the real thing. Also makes a great groom's cake!

This is a birthday cake for a little girl of one of the director's where I work. It is my first carved cake...Design from Debbie Brown's book and thanks to Merissa who gave me tips on how to do this! I was pretty pleased with it overall and I really learned a lot...mostly that it takes ages to do!!!! Thanks for looking!

10, 8, and 6 inch tiers angled in. Covered in fondant with royal icing daisies. I Made this cake in Jan 07 and it has gone to every show with me. I have to replace the daisies after every show because everyone feels the need to poke at them and break them off!

This is the other cake for my son's birthday. It was my first attempt at a "carved" cake. I think it came out pretty well, and my son is happy so that is all that matters.

This cake was inspired by the Colette Peters style donut cakes. I love the process of carving the cake and painting the fondant. To save time, silk flowers were used. Tanks for looking!

This is my very first attempt at a 3D cake. My husband is a firefighter and we had a cookout to attend for the department and I brought "dessert"! The cake was a white almond sourcream cake and half was filled with fresh raspberry filling. Buttercream everything though I did attempt to do a 3D ladder with royal icing but it broke and there wasn't enough time to do another one!

This cake was for a 60th birthday for a man who loves to ride his bicycle and to play basketball. You can't really see it but the "Happy Birthday" banner is being pulled by an airplane. First time carving a road into a tiered cake.

WASC carved the head starting with an 8" square then stacked 2 5" rounds then topped with a mini wondermold. Carved and added piece to form the slope. The little girls wanted a white horse with yellowish, brownish, goldish hair and a pink bow...I love kids!!! It is fondant covered with all fondant accents.

I saw this cake in "Confetti Cakes" and decided to give it a try. I have a friend at work that we jokingly call the Bag Lady! She comes to work every day with at least 1 tote bag filled to the brim! I thought it would be fun to have this on her desk when she comes in tomorrow morning. Thanks for looking.

This was a deserted island with an erupting volcano, massive waves, a shark in the water and two empty beach blankets...see? There are WORSE things than turning 30! I love how the water turned out on this cake. I frosted with just white BC and covered it with water-colored gel and pulled waves out with a toothpick. The white showed thru which gave the water a realistic feel and a lot of movement,

My business partner Suebee and I did this cake for her daughters birthday. Sue also made a great bottle from I Dream of Jeannie for the top. We carved it from a 13x13 square and covered it with moss green fondant. We painted the fondant with Aztec Gold and Avacado green luster dust. This was so much fun. Check under her photos for the bottle!

This cake was carved out of a 9x13 pan. It's French Vanilla with Almond Buttercream. For the various "parts" I used candy - Pull&Peel Twizzlers, Skittles, stick gum, Rolos, and gumdrops. The center hole is made from mmf. Quiet easy and fun to make! :-)

Made this wine bottle in a crate from my Confetti Cake book...went well other than trying to get the fondant to stay on the sides...I think the bottle is a bit fat looking and next time I would carve it more. Straw is RI, Cake is buttermilk choc with SMBC choc/GrandMarnier Filling. This is for the DF of my DS's GF! Thanks for looking!

Friends baby boy 1st birthday cake. I forgot I was supposed to make it small and I made it a little larger. We could've had this one at work instead of Costco cake. I borrowed the idea from Boween, so thanks! Buttercream icing with painted modeling chocolate accents.
