This cake was carved for a lake front wedding where the bride and groom were going to leave the dock in their Wake Board Boat. The cake is three layers of Double Chocolate Fudge with almond vanilla filling. Didn't have an air gun so I used a Wilton spray can and Silver dust with Vodka sprinkled on top. The bow sunk to the deck but nobody knew it and everyone wanted to cut the boat cake before the wedding cake - who would have guessed?

Birthday cake for my son. Bull shark. Tail & I didn't get along. Cake is made of red velvet. BC frosting. Fins are RCT. I feel I could have done a better job frosting the fins. The tail needed internal support which I didn't think of until the party. LOL Hind sight is 20/20.

My son and his family returned from a Florida vacation on the day that we got the worst snow and ice storm of the season. What a shock it must have been to get on the plane with sun and 80's, and to get off in cold, wet yuck blowing sideways. To ease the pain I made them this flip-flops cake with snowflakes and icicles hanging off the edge.

All MMF. except the plane and cloud. Did this cake last minute and didn't have time to do everything in sugar. Chocolate with Chocolate Orange Buttercream. Very fun to do my first Topsy Turvy cake with a challenging time limit.

14 " Marble sheet cake with crusting BC adorned with chili peppers & silver buttons. hat cake is chocolate with BC & MMF. Details: crown -3 layers 6" cake carved, smoothed with BC & covered in MMF. Brim - made 5 days ahead tried molding it on an upside down cowboy hat, had trouble, flipped it over onto a board and used cans hold the brim up. All my commotion made cracks, which I covered by adding a thin layer of fresh MMF on top. Whew, what a save. Black fondant and silver conch for hat trim.

This is a 1/4 sheet, cut in 1/2, stacked, and carved. It took forever to ice! She wanted it to look like the invitation, and I think it is pretty close. Thanks for looking ~Donna

Made this weekend for a 12 yr. old girl. She loves music and got a real electric guitar for her birthday. Single layer triple chocolate cake carved from two 9x13 sheet cakes. Iced with milk and white chocolate butter cream. The iPod is also made from white chocolate. The fret board and pointed tops of the guitar gave me some problems, but overall I was thrilled with the end results. :D

For my friend's son who turned 4. My friend started making cute, stylish
bags, so I traded a cake for a bag! The cake is cut from a single 10 inch
square. I am not too sure about the camo...I don't think I did that part well.

My first attempt making a guitar replica! 3/4-lifesize of my son's favorite guitar. Overall length - 36 in. Body of the guitar was carved from a 12 x 18 sheet cake, torted and filled with BC, covered with BC, then fondant placed on top only. Airbrushed dark color shading and painted lightning bolts with thinned white food color. Neck and headstock were carved of styrofoam then covered with fondant. Accent pieces were gumpaste. Did not add strings - couldn't find anything that looked right. My son loved it!

I'm pretty happy with how this cake turned out. The head is RKT and the body is carved from 8" round cakes. Inspired by the one by kitagirl and all the others on here.

9" round cake with 6" carved flower on top covered in fondant. I cut the dowels too short (1/8" does make a difference!) so the bottom layer of the cake squished a bit. I'm still learning something new on each cake I make so I will know better next time.

Carved Elmo done in pound cake covered in BC on 8 in. chocolate round covered in BC. Fondant eyes, nose, mouth, and dots on cake. Arms, legs, and feet were carved from a separate pound cake and attached to body and cake with skewers. Small circle of cake board on dowel rods supported Elmo and one dowel inserted through Elmo and round was used for further support.

This cake is one of the reasons I decided to enroll in Wilton classes. (See my firetruck for the other :P) I decided it would be much easier to do in the future if I learned how to use fondant! Carved cake frosted with buttercream.

This was my son's first birthday cake. It was a real monster at about 20inches long. It is frosted with BC. It was hot and the BC started to melt. I have since decided I need to learn fondant. The ladders and hydrant are chocolate, hose and dalmatian are MMF. The hose was my first time working with fondant. My 11yr old made the dalmatian and is now obsessed with MMF! I ran out of time before the party so I did not have a chance to fill in the windows like I would have liked. The LED lights were flashers

I am really happy with the way this turned out. So much so that I am excited
for the person to pick it up, however, I wish I could keep it here..LOL! I
did this in exchange for a freezer my husband got from a co-worker last year.
I was inspired mainly by a cake done by Michelle's Cakes that I found on
her website. I enjoyed looking at many other horse cakes posted here as well.

Tires are made of rice crispies and covered in gumpaste. If you are interested in instructions just let me know!

I'm not happy with this one ...one of those days when nothing goes right! The borders and curly ribbon were inspired from Cakery's wonderful designs. This is for my DIL's grandfather, a 12x18 sheet with the 90 carved from the small oval pans (Darn Good Chocolate Cake). I have to thank Stacey for the number templates, she was so helpful! Thanks for looking.

This is a WASC (or WVSC; Mom doesn't like almond!), hand-carved cakes of Dale Earnhardt Jr's race cars, covered in fondant. I didn't do the logos because I really didn't have the time, unfortunately.

I threw this cake together in about 3 hours start to finish when I decided to have my husband a dinner tonight. The cake was covered in fondant. The head is styrofoam. I would have used Rice Krispy Treats for the head if I would have had time.

I made this for my son's first day of preschool. It was rushed, so it wasn't as good as I would have liked, but it was fun to experiment. White cake, but colored 4 different colors before baking, so it is very colorful inside. This was my first attempt at carving a cake and my first experience with IMBC. It went pretty well, although I picked too large of a tip for writing on the top. The crayons are MMF. Thanks for looking!

I made this for a friend's birthday. It's two 7x2" rounds and a bowl shaped vanilla cakes that were stacked, filled, and carved into the desired shape. Then the whole cake was covered in fondant. Legs and eyes are also made from fondant. The whole cake is airbrushed.

Took this class with Browan Webber. It was so much fun. There is so much you can do with the frame that was uses. Didn't have time to complete entire clown, but thought it turned out pretty good.

A customer asked me for a carved cake in the shape of Florida for her inlaws retirement party. This is gold cake torted and filled with raspberry preserves and BC. Finish and all details are BC as well. The customer asked for a die cast Harley be placed on the board, so I bought one that resembled the couple's bike pretty closely. It was a fun cake to make!
