I did this cake for a friend of mine from graduate school. The first one I made cracked under the fondant. I didn't realize that chocolate cakes can be too moist to support fondant. Found out the hard way. This is my first buttercream frosted cake. There was more I wanted to do, but I ran out of time. TFL

8" vanilla Circus Tent Topper covered in fondant stripes... 40 circus themed cupcakes. Clowns heads are from Wilton & some sugar toppers from Wilton as well. Popcorn cupcakes with mini marshmallows... Designed to go along with the carnival party supplies for oriental trading.

I made this for my 3 oldest boys 9th,7th and 5th b-day party. We had carnival theme. I saw another with the ice cream cones at the bottom and they've been begging for the candy barrel for a year so I combined the two.

This was made for a little girl having a carnival themed birthday party. Dark chocolate fudge cake with vanilla buttercream & fondant with fondant accents. Bumper car "floor" is hand painted, so are bumper cars which are made from RKT and sides of the cake.

Circus themed cake for a little boys first bday. The Mom sent me a picture of what she wanted. It is 3 tiers of cake and the big top tent is formed from rice cereal treats and then covered in frosting and fondant. It is 6-9-12 inch round cakes. It is all butter vanilla cake with a amaretto simple syrup infusion. Homemade vanilla frosting and satin ice fondant. This is by far the hardest cake Ive ever made and then traveled an hour with it ASSEMBLED on my lap to deliver! I also made the popcorn cupcakes you see below. Made by cutting marsmellows and spraying with yellow frosting color spray.

Top cake is Chocolate covered with Chocolate Butter Cream, Centre Beam/Pole? is Rice Krispie Treats, Pink Tier is Vanilla Cake covered with Vanilla Butter Cream and Purple Bottom Tier is Chocolate covered with Chocolate Butter Cream. All covered in Fondant. Each Horses are hand carved from Gum Paste, decorated with Fondant and Royal Icing

This cake was for two kids who were both turning 3, Ally and Creighton. Each child got a side of the cake decorated with customized ticket. The ticket had their name on it and the their ticket number was their birthday. The ferriswheel is made from gumpaste. Ice cream cones were attached to the side of the cake and filled with buttercream frosting. Chocolate WASC cake with bavarian cream filling. Thank you to Jardot22 for the inspiration for this cake! TFL!!

Think I may have gotten a we bit carried away with this one! I really enjoyed making it and although it's not as my origainal design (of which was a complete float) I think I actually like this better. The cake was ordered by the manager of 'The Swan Hotel' for one of her chef's who had worked for them for 20 years. They wanted to celebrate this with a cake but wanted it to reflect her interests of cycling to work everyday and her heavy involvement in the Carnivals. If you've ever been to see one of the Carnivals in Somerset, you'll know the floats are HUGE!! and they have so many light bulbs that the heat just radiates off them, which is handy as they are held in November so you're nice and toasty as you watch them go by.

I used a really large round tip and piped on the kernels. Then I let them crust, lightly tapped down any pointy peaks. Then I had to take a tool and make the criss cross pattern. This was the most time consuming. I had to wipe off the tool after each kernel, as there was BC on it and then dip it in a cornstarch/powdered sugar mixture. Cause once you push past the crusted outer layer, it of course was soft underneath. There were roughly 30+ kernels on each cupcake times 24 cupcakes! It took about 4 hours total for the cupcakes alone. Then I airbrushed some yellow for the "butter." I will be charging alot more for these if ever asked to make them again!!!

I made this three tiered, fondant cake for a client for her one year son. The top of the tent is made of the half ball cake pan. The covered the smash cake with fondant and the elephant is made of fondant with tylose. I made 36 popcorn cupcakes as party favors. They were lots of work, but adorable. I wanted the cake to be bright. It was lots of fun to do.

Three tier cake covered and decorated with fondant. Popcprn kernels made in advance of fondant and dusted with yellow dust; hand drawn popcorn bucket design on fondant, then wrapped around cake.

24 dozen ice cream cone and popcorn cup cupcakes donated to the 2nd annual fundraiser dinner for my church's preschool. Man was my back aching that night. Good thing I only bake that much once-a-year.
