This was my first "cut out" cake. The full card is a 12x15 sheet cake and the back cards are cut from another 12x15. It was quite large. The poker chips are vanilla wafers dipped in candy. I was very proud of this cake!

This is my first try at a poker theme and I was given less than 24hours notice! I have about 4 hours invested into this. The cards I painted on my breaks at work. The entire cake is lightly dusted with gold luster dust that made it look awesome however didn't turn out in the pictures. Overall I don't think I could have done any better with such short notice. This is one of two cakes ordered at the last minute for his suprise party. The other was Angelfood cake with strawberries 'n' cream.

12" rounds cut down to a hexagon shape. Frosted and filled with chocolate buttercream. Everything else fondant . Cards are edible images on fondant. This is for a cousin's wedding today as the groom's cake. I was asked to do the wedding also but.....I don't think so....no wedding cakes for me....too nervous. I wish I would of used a gold base now that it is done...plus I also wish I would of made the playing field a little bigger...other than that, for my first poker cake, not too bad. TFL...please let me know what you think :o)

I made this for my sister, who works at a school. Four of her co workers have birthdays this month, but tomorrow is the last day of school. So she asked me to do a multi themed cake for them. Designs are made out of color flow, iced in buttercream dream icing. Thanks for looking!

This was a birthday cake for my uncle who rather likes to gamble :) I made it to look like a padded leather exterior poker table with the green felt top. I am very pleased with how well it turned out. WASC cake with IMBC and MMF. The cards and chips are made out of gumpaste. The cards were drawn on with edible food markers and are 1/2" tall by little under 1/2" wide.

cards, poker chips, man, and guitar are all mode of gumpaste. all are hand painted with almond extract and wilton icing colors. The speaker, top edge of the table and borders going down the sides of the table are all 70% fondant 30% gum paste. the green table top and side panels of the table are straight fondant. Devils food box mix cake with chocolate almond buttercreme filling. This cake was a ton of fun to make, it was my first experience with gum paste.
