This is my 8th attempt at a fondant covered cake. I suppose I could do much better, but was in such a rush to get this done in just a couple of hours. Tis all GF, even the fries which I made from GF sugar cookie dough.

I made this cake at 15 for my cousin's birthday. He loves hamburgers so I had to make him a cake of one. As a beginner with decorating cakes, at the time, I did not know of fondant and all the other cake decorating secrets so I had to be creative with this. The bun is made of yellow cake and frosted with vanilla frosting that was dyed brown. The burger is chocolate cake with no frosting. The mustard is frosting and the tomato and lettuce is made from an airhead. I melted it, then cut it to the desired shape.

Hamburger "meat" and fries are sugar cookies. Ketchup is piping gel w/ red color added (in a small white dip cup). The condiments and veggies on the burger are icing or gum paste. The bun was made with the round ball pan using white cake and no icing on the outside (it's iced of the bun for decoration - mayo - and flavor). Buttercream icing on the rest.

Made this for the opening of a new Red Robin store locally. Burger bun is made from round ball cake pan with white cake - no icing on outside (there is on the inside for taste). Meat patty is a sugar cookie w/ cocoa added for color. Veggies are gum paste.

I just had to try this for myself! Thanks to everyone for the inspiration! Made with vanilla wafers, brownies, fondant cheese and lettuce and BC ketchup and mustard. I attached the sesame seeds by a painting dots of piping gel on the top and dipping them in the seeds. The kids went crazy for them!

Hamburger cake for family reunion picnic. Used 8" bottom and top (left the top rounded) and 10" center. Buttercream frosting all over - center layer I added crumbled chocolate cake pressed into the side of the buttercream. Suggested by another on this site for realistic burger effect and it worked great. Fondant cheese and lettuce. Used real sesame seeds toasted for the top. Was lots of fun to do and a big hit at the party. Thanks for looking.

For years my boyfriend wanted a cheeseburger cake. Every time we went to the grocery store he would always point to the ones in the bakery and say you're getting that for my birthday. Well finally on his birthday last year I went to buy it. They had a bunch but they were all expired so at the last minutes I put this together, and my love of cake decorating was born! Not the best burger cake but super easy. The fries are tea cake cookies.

This is actually a meal that is served at the restaurant where I currently work. The two cakes are yellow with Madagascar vanilla icing and the other is a chocolate cake with a milk chocolate icing. They are both covered in MM fondant. The food is all hand crafted. The chicken wings, chicken tenders, and egg roll were all formed from rice crispy treats and then covered in fondant. I lightly colored the fondant and then painted over with darker colors. The wings were done in a method used by JollyT, piping gel with food coloring. The food looks really great but it all fell apart when it was time to cover the cake in fondant.

"Girly" style Scooby cake for an adult woman who loves Scooby but is not a fan of the typical blue/green color scheme. Decorations are fondant except the gift boxes - they were made with candy melts and a mold. The Scooby was my first attempt at figure modeling - used fondant with a bit of Tylose (maybe too much, as he started to crack as he dried). Special thanks to Hansel_Gretel and jardot22 for inspiration on the Scooby modeling.

These were lots of fun, not too hard. Yellow butter cake, chocolate cake, mmf, and buttercream. Sad thing is I sent 27 to school with my son for his birthday. At lunch, 12 of them lay in ruins on the cafeteria floor. He openned the box incorrectly and they dropped. He was devastated!

All chocolate cake. Buttercream frosting, added some cocoa powder to achieve bun color. Fondant cheese. Made this for my 6 year old who is a cheeseburger fanatic. FYI the exposed cake does get crusty, so do not make cake too far ahead of time if you can help it.
