This was my 1st time trying string work, bridge work, royal icing embellishments and brush embroidery. I have a lot to learn!!! I'd appreciate any advice!!! I had a really hard time with the strings breaking and stretching- maybe it was too loose? Having to stop all the time for my two little ones made this really frustrating- don't know if this is my thing right now. I learned it all from the internet- when I've got the time, I'd love to take a class!

The cake is white cake with vanilla buttercream and a homemade white chocolate fondant. The fondant didn't turn out well, but I didn't feel like remaking it since it is a holiday cake for work. All decorations are royal icing. The snowflake on top was done with brush embroidery and some luster dust to shine and sparkle. ^-^ On the sides you will see my first ever attempt at Australian stringwork, a wonderful experience that was so much easier than I expected.

This is a sexy cake inspired by the bride's garter belt. The flowers were hand molded to resemble fabric. The brooch is made out gumpaste and dusted in light purple. The separators were covered with silver sugar. I finished the cake with white on white brush embroidery to add texture to the cake. Thanks for looking.

My friend has been talking about her birthday cake (and reminding us her birthday was coming up) for months! She wanted me to make her a red velvet cake -- her favorite. And she's a huge Steelers fan, so she said it had to have some black and and yellow on it. I really wanted to do the pillow and I added the "gift" on top to really make it look like a birthday cake. Another show cake. I had recently uploaded a pic of this cake but the all yellow was too much so I went back and added some pearl spray and airbrushed in a little color. Like it soooo much better now. So... deleted the old photo.

That's the cake I did for a special friend of mine. Inspired by Wedgwood and Eddie Spence.
Royal Icing runout collar topper and pressure piping Cupid on the run-out blue plaque, brush emboidery on the sides of the cake and on the board with a little royal icing run-out heart with a pressure piped daisy (Eddie's Spence's symbol to me, which means that I always have the Master of Royal Icing in my heart. That heart with the pressure piped daisy will be my sugnature from now on :D) Extension works on the sides of the cake.

This was the first time I have used this technique and I chose to use royal icing instead of buttercream. Although my royal icing was a almost too thin because for some reason it seemed to have softened by the time I got ready to use it . It still came out nice regardless.

Just wanted to practice with BC and piping since I mostly play with fondant. Tried the upside-down method and don't really like how it turned out; not nearly as flawless overall even though the corners are really sharp. More practice, I guess. :-)

My first time trying this technique! Was very pleased with the way it turned out. I just used thinned buttercream icing (thinned with water) over rolled buttercream fondant.

Needed to make a cake looked like Spring. This was my first attempt at brushed embroidery. Not too difficult and it looks so pretty! I used buttercream to do it. I love how it turned out!
