Cream Cheese Buttercream with Fondant lapels, rose and pearls. I absolutely prefer not to work with Cream Cheese as it wrinkles so easily.

The final version of my bride & groom. I've loved every minute of doing these - and there was alot of them! Everything's edible apart from the tiara and silver part of the necklace. All modelling paste.

This couple were married in Mexico and had a reception back home in Scotland. I loved this bride's dress. The silver colour or the sparkle doesn't show up well in a photo. I'd like to do the suitcases again but use gold as opposed to silver for a bolder highlight on the handles and buckles.

This cake was designed to match the bride's dress. The toppers were also made to look like the bride and groom. It is buttercream with royal icing piping. The bride and groom are fondant and gumpaste.

This cake is white cake on the bottom and chocolate on top. It’s filled and iced with buttercream. The crab, bucket, and ball are made out of modeling chocolate as are the shells, which were then dusted with petal dust and white luster dust. The bride and groom flamingos are made from gum paste and then dusted with petal dust. The “sand” was made from crushed vanilla and chocolate cookies mixed with a little bit of brown sugar. This remains to be my favorite cake!

Bride's request for a Groom's cake. She emailed me a photo she found as inspiration, as well as photos of her and her fiance so the figures would resemble them. Spice cake, chocolate bc 10" cake. Bride, groom, boat, bouquet, sign, cattails and leaves are all fondant, and jellybeans for pebbles. Creating the B&G was so much fun, and I think I captured their resemblances.

Oooooh! Another bride and groom! I'm almost at the end of my wedding couples for this year but I particularly like these two because of the different colours used. I've really enjoyed making these two.

Covered in fondant with fondant/gumpaste figures. I was so annoyed that the fondant wouldn't lie flat though. Thank goodness for borders!

The groom told me what he wanted and I did it! The bride and groom were so hard to make. I even cried over them. My 7 year old said a prayer for me, I got up and finished the cake! The groom loved it!

This was the first cake to ever make me cry! It was about 30 inches long. The left half oval was chocolate mud cake with chocolate icing and the right half was butter vanilla with buttercream icing. It was WAY too hot and humid in my kitchen and the buttercream was melting and the cake started sagging. The fondant developed elephant skin. I could not start over as I was out of time so I concealed it the best I could. I'm just thankful the event was in a dimly lit restaurant.

Bride and Groom figurines from Lorraine McKay's class in Austin. These ended up looking more old-fashioned than I planned, partly due to my messing up the back of the bride so bad that the only thing left to do was cover her with a shawl!

This is the Bride and Groom cake topper that I made in Lorraine McKay's class this weekend. I had such a great time. It was a wonderful learning experience. Lorraine and her husband are such genuinely nice people! She is a terrific teacher an makes you feel like you can do anything! I encourage any and everyone to take her class if you can! Thanks, Lorraine, for an amazing weekend!!!

I offered to make this grooms cake for my new brother-in-law for their wedding. (since his family refused to buy one) In all honesty I was excited to make it for Joe. He is from Boston. Surprise. The cake is yellow, with chocolate fudge filling, and vanilla bc. The cake is covered in green fondant then airbrushed over it to give it texture. The stadium is cake as well with large sprinkles. The sign was rice cereal with fondant and RI. The hats are gumpaste. His hat warped a bit from drying and I didn't have enough time to make another. I took a foam Ball (florist foam) and cut it into a head shape covered it with plastic wrap so I could pull the foam out of the hat. The bride and groom are all fondant.
