This is for my cousins wedding cake. The bride and groom are to somewhat toon resemble them. The 2 little girls were supposed to be in the wedding party but tragically passed away last year but will be there in memory with themselves and their parents.

I love the bride's dress and was happy to imitate it in sugar. The design is piped on with a fine tip and painted black.

Another character wedding cake. This is the first of the black and white themes I have this year. I've another one of these coming up in May with 9 characters on it. The amount of times I had to wash my hands during the making of this one was unbelievable. Black is the worst colour to use but I love the effect.

This is the topper I made for one of our waitresses who got married recerntly at our restaurant. Made from gumpaste, had a bit of trouble with the ready made black paste was so soft but after a few dramas and repairs to the groom I think it turned out ok in the end.

This cake is very similar to one I have done before except the bride wanted more dots, flowers, and a Bride and Groom. It is all done in fondant except the flowers and they are gumpaste. I am really happy with the way it came out. I love making fondant Brides and Grooms. Thanks for looking!

I made these for a cake I finished this weekend. They are made with fondant and I tried to give them some of the same charateristics of the bride and groom. I actually got a tip for this one.

Another "signature" wedding cake for you. Working with black and ivory or white is very tricky and means an awful lot of handwashing between steps. Very time consuming but very worthwhile when you see the bride's reaction to her cake! You can see more views of this on Flckr, the link is on my blog in my profile. :o)

The last bride and groom from me this week....I have to say thank goodness. It has been an awful busy time and I'll be happy when both wedding cakes are delivered and safe so that I can breathe again!

So much inspiration came from CC on this. I was so happy with how it turned out. Cake is WASC with buttercream icing. The "filling" is a layer of icing topped with fresh cut strawberries...quite pretty to cut in to. The little flowers were supposed to be drop flowers, but my icing was not cooperating, I kept squeezing and turning and got the carnation effect. The icing is marbled to get the effect around the bride and groom. Thanks for looking.

The silhouette was piped in royal on the flush back of the square cakes. All the baubles are fondant or pearls shimmered up with lots of dust! I designed this cake for my first bridal show where the theme was "pretty in pink". Thanks for looking!

Another bride and groom for this weekend. I loved the bride's dress for this one and also a different kind of bouquet which was fabulous to do. Tartan as ALWAYS! Not a single pair of trousers on a groom this year....oh my goodness!

This was fun to make- the couple wanted an abstract mountain with snow capped peaks. They are dressed in wedding clothes but with backpacks and hiking sticks. Their first date was a hike through the mountains.

B/G are made of gumpaste and fondant. I made two of each so you would see the same look on either side.

This is a mini version of our friends' wedding cake. It is a 6", 4", and 2"! Really small and cute! They had their formal reception two week earlier with a big cake. I made a mini version for their open house. The flowers and figures are gum paste - inspired by aine2, as always! I copied the bride's dress and bouquet from pictures. The ribbon on the bottom is real, and the "ribbon" on the cake is fondant!

Bride and Groom cakes for SIL's bridal shower. I got the idea from the various bride and groom cakes here on CC. The bride cake is French Vanilla with strawberry filling and BC icing. (First attempt at cornelli lace, at 1:00 am no less.) :-) The groom cake is chocolate with chocolate mousse filling and fudge frosting. The pearls, bow, and tux collar are MMF. The roses are BC with bag striping. Thanks for looking! (Forgot to take my camera to the party, so all I have is the pic from the kitchen.)
