Believe it or not, I pretty much came up with this design on my own. It wasn't until I googled wizard of oz cake to see if there was anything to add to it that I realised loads of others had this idea for a wizard of oz cake too!

Legoman plus 6 legobricks. I used a bakingform for those but then I cut off the studs because it was easier to cover in sugarpaste that way. I put on sugarpaste-studs afterwards.

My take on an Angry Birds cake. I was very limited on time and resources so I had to make do with what I had. If I were to do it again I would probably make a lot more changes.

This was for an 18th bday party for a girl who was doing the whole Disney Princess theme - she found a cake on mysweetand saucy.com and I used that as my inspiration (thank you!). 8, 6, 4 in rounds covered in mmf - used the top of an ice cream cone for the towers that the princesses stood on!

This is a Wizard of Oz themed cupcake display I entered in a state wide High School Cupcake Competition and won Most Creative. The cupcakes themselves were home made chocolate while they have a mix of butter cream and fondant. The reason I decided to make Chocolate cupcakes was so that the cupcakes themselves represented the Tornado that took Dorothy to Oz, given the shape of the cakes and the color. The green cupcakes in the back are what I referred to as Emerald Cities, green icing with green sprinkles and a melted green jolly rancher to garnish. Poppy field cupcakes green icing fondant poppy. Glinda is the pink cupcake with pink luster dust and silver edible pearls, the Wicked Witch of the West (behind the house) Green icing with a fondant hat, Tin Man silver and bronze pearl dust with a fondant funnel and heart. Scarecrow yellow icing with fondant crow and diploma, Lion golden brown icing with a fondant Medal of Courage, Dorothy, white icing with hand painted fondant circle gingham design and fondant ruby slippers with red sprinkles, Toto is a mini cupcake with brown icing. The whole display was to represent the scene when they're running down the Yellow Brick Road through the poppy field to the Emerald City. The board the cupcakes sit on and the Emerald city I hand painted and added the green light and glow sticks to make it shine and stand out. I was told I won most creative because I was able to make each characters cupcake without actually creating the character and just showing the essence of each of the characters and making it obvious to the people who each cupcake was.
