I made this cake for our son's 2nd birthday. Chocholate mud cake baked in a lamington tray and then iced with coloured fondant. Jay jay suspended above the cake, and the airport is a photo and then cut out and stuck into the cake with tooth picks. Coloured coconut for grass.

This was my first cake. My son wanted a firefighter theme for his birthday and I needed something other than a firetruck cake. So, Cake Central to the rescue! I planned on MMF, but my husband didn't like that, so I ended up doing yellow buttercream with MMF accents.

My son is obsessed with the Teen Titans. I had to try to freehand Robin (with Hubby's help!). Due to a chicken pox possibility, our party was a last minute affair and so was his cake! However, he loved it! The cake is homemade strawberry with a whipped cream filling. Standard buttercream icing.

This cake was made for a brother in Christ who is 90. It was white cake with apricot/pinneaple filling. Decorations are in rolled fondant. I really wanted the beige part to be brown. Now I know that to acomplish that color I have to put lots of it. I had a lot of fun making this cake!!

BIrthday cake I made for a 17-year-old young man. I was asked to make a birthday cake for a 17-year-old with "any" design-no idea of his hobbies, interests, etc. Every teenage boy likes a fancy car, right?! Buttercream with Toba Garrett's Glaze image.

I designed this cake for my younger cousin. He likes to hunt. I piped the icing on and then smoothed with a paper towel. It was quite a hit with all of our family hunters.

This wasn't my best work but my son saw the picture in a catalog and wanted it. I used the horseshoe pan to make it look like a construction site. Then added the mini tonka trucks. My favorite is the cement truck laying the icing! Also his name is hard to read but its suppose to look like boards nailed up. Thanks for looking!

This cake was done for my son's 7th bday. Half choc/Half vanilla w/ BC frosting. The two 'characters' were done as a FBCT. Wasn't too happy with the lettering but the BC wasn't crusting for me and I was in a time crunch!!!

Chocolate fudge cake with buttercream icing. Buttercream covered straws for 'sails'. After following some pretty weak instructions on making a pirate ship, i found my cake completely falling apart in the fridge...slowly cracking apart. After a five minute stress break, I realized that i could make a squid attacking the ship. Everyone thought i meant for the ship to be broken apart like that. It worked out great in the end and my 5 year old son just loved it!

I made this cake for my nephew's 1st birthday. He loves anything with wheels so I made this from small loaf pans and used candy for the decor. I had extra cake mix left so I made a few cupcakes to look like trees. It was fairly easy.

A cupcake cake for my son's birthday party at his daycare. It was his and another boy's birthday, so I made one cake for both, with each boy's name on a dog. Vanilla cupcakes w/ chocolate cream cheese filling.

This cake was for a 2-year-old boy's birthday. As with most boys this age, he loves tractors. The tractor is a toy I bought at Target. The mounds of 'dirt' are carved pieces of chocolate cake.
