I got this idea from the Wilton website. It was made with the long loaf pan and cookies for the flowers.

First request for a shoebox birthday cake for a young lady who was turning 21. She's majoring in fashion design. Shoebox iced in bc. Fondant barcode label and receipt with edible ink. I must give credit to my DH who did the writing with edible ink. He has a steady hand! I wanted to try doing a fabulous high heel like the ones I've seen on this website. So I tried my best at sculpting a shoe out of fondant. Used pearl shimmer dust to add sparkle to shoe. I'm pretty pleased with the result.

Thanks to Cambo for the cake idea. I shamelessly copied her great tool box cake. This cake is a three layer white cake with chocolate buttercream icing. The tools are mostly made from chocolate molds, but there are a few color flow tools added in. I had to make cupcakes in order to feed the crowd so I put some leftover color flow dots on the cupcakes so they would match!!

The directions I got for these were very specific. The bow HAD to be like a tiffany box bow. No problem, we only had to make a few hundred of them, lol.

borrowing liberally from adven68s stellar work of the jack in the box here is Carrot Top my daughters favorite comedian!
box is covered in MMF since she doesnt like fondant (but I wouldnt recommend since it isnt stiff enough to hold to a vertical side) with fondant accents. lid is foamcore covered in MMF Carrot Top os GP, hand painted. there is a crank on the side which is GP and wire.

Thanks to CC member Kgunn for the inspiration for the tacklebox. The tacklebox is white cake covered in BC. The shelves of the tacklebox are gum paste w/real lures. The beer box is a chocolate cake covered in white BC with edibile image wrapped around the cake. The handle is gumpaste w/edibile image applied. This is my first 3D cake.

This was a cake for celebrating the life of a very special man. His family held a memorial get-to-gether and my friend asked me to make this cake. I was so happy that it turned out the way I had pictured it in my mind. Thank you for looking!

This is a cake I did for a co-worker. I decorated it so it would look like a gift wrapped box. The bow is made from ribbon.

This was a learning experience. My first gift box cake, my first fondant bow and the first time making baby booties. It was lots of fun. My favorite so far. Box top is cardboard cut and formed intoa box lid, covered in gumpaste with a fondant bow and ribbons. The cake is 4 layers (2 chocolate, 1 white and 1 strawberry) iced in buttercream with hand painted polka dots. Ribbon, baby shoes, tissue paper and teddy bear are fondant.

Here is a small gift box, made from a 7" round cake pan.. I used the collar method from this site to get my cake to rise high.. So that I could have enough cake to cut the top off for the "lid" of my cake.. Colored Fondant accents to match Tinkerbell.. I was trying to make a cake to match Tinkerbell, without really using Tinkerbell herself.. I also found cute wings at a dollar store and added one to my cake and one to each cupcake.. I had alot of fun on this cake..

This is my first attempt at a hatbox cake! Wow was it a lot of work!! There were a lot of challenges and things that did not turn out like I wanted but overall I am pretty happy with it. I made it for my grandmothers 80th bday.

I know it's a little busy but they actually wanted it busier. I tamed it down a bit. The theme was 'Lilac and Pearls'. All the accents are fondant. Painted with Antique Luster Dust.

OMG.. this was suppose to be the cake I was going to do a tutorial on.. WELL.. 10 last night I realized I did not have any black icing.. I had to run to 2 different walmarts at 11 last night to find black gel.. SOOO needless to say, I did not have time to make step by step photos.. I had to rush this cake, being I was on it late last night and early this morning...
PROMISE! my next order on a cake such as this will be the one I make tutorial on..chocolate cake, fondant bow, royal icing poodle and tower...

This is one of the cookie bouquets that I made for a baby shower this weekend. I used them for the centerpieces on the tables. They were so much fun to make. The cookies are NFSC with marshmallow fondant icing and royal icing accents.

Two days and a back ache later... Clutch bag is a fruit cake and gift box is a simple vanilla & almond sponge cake. The inspiration was from various cakes posted here, so ... thanks to all who wittingly and unwittingly contributed.

I made this cake for my 20 yr old son who is a 'gamer'. The system wasn't available to the public yet and I researched the look 'online'. This was the 1st time and only time so far using fondant

This cake was for my sister's bridal shower. This was all firsts for me, first time making the cake flavors, first time making a shoe, first time making a shoe box and a sache (sp). The shoe box cake was key lime cake with white chocolate mousse and crushed graham cracker filling. The sache was a gluten free chocolate cherry cake with whipped chocolate ganache filling.

The favors for the wedding were the inspiration for this cake. The bride and groom gave away small pink boxes tied with raspberry and green ribbon. The favors were displayed on a table covered in wheat grass. We thought it would be neat to copy the favor in the wedding cake and have it too displayed on wheat grass. The cake was pink fondant and the ribbons and bow were also fondant. It was a snow white vanilla cake filled with chocolate mousse and raspberry mousse.

I made this in my brand new LONG pan. The family has 9 kids (2 yrs-22 yrs), so everyone had to get a cookie and a piece.

All MMF. This cake almost didn't have a home with e mail malfunctions I just found out the delivery info. Made this for a coworker's baby shower. 2nd try with the gift boxes--still needs work. Has a pair of baby overalls and a charger monkey toy (for daddy).

Okay. First of all, thank you to "peacockplace" for the inspiration from her stacked gift box cakes. This is my first MMF and my first gift box cake. It's only about 3 1/2" by 3 1/2". It was a lot of fun, but I have trouble getting all of the excess powdered sugar off of it. I also wanted to do a bow and ribbon, but I couldn't figure out how...so I used Duff's method for fondant roses. I like it enough, but I hope to do better next time.

Made for a 49th birthday party - only request was the color selection and cake flavor. Daughter of the guest of honor picked it up and told me she was jealous because her mom's cake was prettier than the one I made for her! I took that as a compliment. I am dying to do one of these pillows with a tiara or shoe on top! Need to find an extruder tool for my ropes - what a pain to roll out all of that and keep them from breaking. Pillow was 14" square, sculpted - that was one huge piece of fondant...

Here's my other gift box cake made from MMF. The lid and box are cake, the rest is MMF. This one was SO fun! I used the punch out fondant flower cutter thingy for the flowers. I LOVE this one! I still need to make my edges neater and get rid of all of the powdered sugar, but I'll keep practicing!
