3 Tiffany Boxes, all white cake, strawberry filling, french vanilla buttercream and fondant. With the exception of the words themselves, all edible. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it was my first set of boxes. Thanks

This was made for my son's Pre-School Teacher's Appreciation week. Also, my first attempt with fondant... used it for the trim. Dirt was Crumbled Oreo Cookie Pie Crust over a thin layer of chocolate pudding. Hid a few wormies in there too :)
Thanks for looking.

This is one of my favorite cakes! It was yellow cake with pastry cream, strawberries and bananas. I wasnt sure how it would turn out but it turned out great and it held up pretty well since i had to deliver it to the party an hour away from me.

This, along with part 2, will make a 5x7 greeting card, where the back of the card is a 1" deep box for decorated cookies. You will have to either get some clear acetate for the window opening, or package the cookie in a clear bag before inserting it in the box.

This was a last minute cake that I made to take to my in-laws this morning. We spent the day helping them pack up their house. The moving van comes Monday morning and we're no where near finished!

I didn't care for the way this turned out. We were pretty rushed in class trying to get it done. I do like the colors pink, black and white though.
I didn't want to put the dots on the ribbon but one of my fellow students touched the ribbon with her finger that had food coloring on it. Since I didn't have time to redo the cake I just threw some dots on.
Working with fondant was fun and I think I will remake the gift box cake but spend more time on it.

I desided to try a harder cake then the one in the book that is normally done in Course 3. What was I thinking???? I made so mistakes doing this cake. But I learned a lot and next time will know how to do this much easier.

Took picture before Bow was dried so the little bottles show. Of course they came out one bow dried. Cake is also dusted with luster dust.

It is french vanilla cake with cherry filling. Covered first in bc then in fondant.

Cake for one of my little girl's dancing buddies. She was having a "glamour girl" party at My Little Tea Party. The shoe gave me a little trouble getting it to hold it's shape. I learned a little about luster dust. I much prefer "dry dusting" to mixing it and "painting". White cake with strawberry filling. Covered in fondant with fondant and gumpaste accents.

The cakes are wrapped in white chocolate plastic and the ribbons and flowers are marshmallow fondant. This cake is so heavy. I always make too much. :)

Edited to add: I welcome any constructive criticism. Really!

I made this cake for a baby shower. It was a lot of first for me. First time using MMF (pickets for the fence), first sugar cookies, first time using royal icing. It was a lot of fun to make and my friend loved it.

Her birthday happens to be 9/11. She was celebrating her 50th in Cancun when the WTC towers were hit. Her birthdays have never been the same, since. This is a 2-layer 6" round. The lid is half of the second layer.

This was the cake from H..E..double hockeysticks! The cake fell apart completely. I had to use frosting to hold it together long enough to get the fondant on, then smooth the fondant without ruining the general shape of the cake.

6 in practice hat box cake. The box and lid are the Cake Mix DR. tomato soup spice cake recipe with cinnamon buttercream. Covered in mmf with mmf decorations. My fondant is far from perfect but I was surprised how easy it was to put together! Thanks to Godiva and franjmc for the overall design idea.

I made this for my dear stepdaughter - she got engaged last week! French vanilla cake made in the smallest pan of the mini-heart pan set - 2 layers for the box and 1 layer for the lid. Iced in buttercream, with a fondant bow and fondant engagement ring. I used gold luster dust for the band of the ring, and pearl dust for the diamond.

This is a close-up of the engagement ring. I cut the bottom of the band to push it through the fondant "cushion" of the ring box so it would be standing, but then I had to put a little patch of white fondant to cover a little tear.

This was very challenging for me, and it was for the owner of my husband's company, so no pressure! A cake to match, as closely as possible, the Keepsake Box shown in the two small inset pictures framed in green). The base and lid are cardboard wrapped with fondant. The cake is three stacked 8x12's. The carriage on front was going to be a FBCT, but it fell off!! So thanks to my wonderful sister for sugggesting a fondant cutout in blue, then piping in the details.
