This was a last minute request from a friend for a double Christening of two cousins. The mothers were having a "Tiffany blue" and mauve theme, so I tried to incorporate that into the design. Bottom tier chocolate mud, top tier, white chocolate mud, covered in fondX. Bows, plaque and bears made with gumpaste and the bows were dusted in super pearl lustre. Unfortunately, I took this photo before I put the mauve ribbon around the board, and didn't take another until after it was cut!

Wow! This was a feat. It's what I envisioned, just not nearly the quality I hoped for! I'm giving up on fondant for a while. This is 5 layers of yellow cake with Whip Cream frosting, covered in fondant. My first fondant bow - that's my fave part of the cake! Couldn't figure out how to get the fondant to cover the corners smoothly, the fondant started breaking and wouldn't stop. Ended up cutting the sides like a mider-cut. There's seams at the corners, but oh well! It's for a co-worker's 30th birthd

Chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling, iced in BC. I was experimenting with different types of medium, so the decorations are made in candy clay, MMF, and fondant. I am pleased with this one I think.

I was taking some dinner to some friends who had just had a baby and decided to take them a cake too. So here's what I came up with last minute. Not too great...but they were appreciative.

This cake was made for a oronation ceremony. The sorority's colors are blue and white. They were pleased with the cake although I think one of the words is mis-spelled. They gave me two different spellings...I used the one off the t-shirt and after I decorated the cake I noticed the email that was sent had a totally different spelling. Oh well. I was told the cake was good.

This is the Blues Clues Cake & Pinata that I made for my son's 1st birthday. I used the Wilton cake pan, covered the cake in fondant, and decrated with buttercream.

The pinata was made by covering baloons with paper mache & tissue paper. The pinata took forever to make!!!

Mini cake - 4" square. White cake with raspberry buttercream filling. Covered in MMF with MMF accents. Still trying to get the hang on working with MMF. Had several creases, but definitely better than my last attempt. Cake is displayed on candle holder. Thanks for looking and any suggestions would be helpful!

This cake was done for a young lady who loves teddy bears. Her school colors are red and blue. This was my first attempt at a 3D Bear cake...I was not too pleased with the final results...but I learned a lot. I will try this one again soon.

This cake was done for the local Head Start Program. They are having a ball for the kids and the director of the center asked me to decorate a cake to match the ball decorations. I'm not too pleased with the silver stars but overall I thought it looked o.k. for a last minute cake.

This was a christening cake for two brothers being christened on the same day. I was not at all happy with the writing, and scraped it off twice and this was still the best I could do! The ruffle around the bottom was my favorite part.

This is another fun party cake...the theme was Erotic City. They even had strippers and a stripper pole at the party. I wonder where they rented that from?

This cake was made for a Bride and Groom who loves their dogs so much that they were walked down the aisle by the Maid of Honor. The Maid of Honor thought it would be cute to make dog collars interlock to symbolize wedding rings. The dog paws were just an added decoration.

I made this for a crawfish boil - it is a vanilla Dream Cake with Whimsical Bakehouse icing. The sun is chocolate transfer. It was a big hit. The star border is a bit unimaginative, but I was short on time. Square cake are much hard to ice than round ones!! I did not know that!! I think I will stick to the crusting buttercream from now on. It is so much easier to work with.

First I must thank sugarshack for her beautiful cake that inspired this design. I did add an extra layer and changed the pink to orange. I think it turned out pretty well.

This is for a friend's little boy. She wanted construction as the theme. The pieces are chocolate transfers - this is a first for me. I love the way they aren't so fragile, but creating the color black without making the candy seize was not an easy task for me. I haven't had much experience in the chocolate department. I could've gotten my lines a bit more angled and evenly spaced.

I made this for two colleagues at work who are retiring. It is chocolate transfer with buttercream icing. This is my second sun like this and I think I improved on the first one. I used a parchment bag for the outline and I got a much finer line. The inside is a vanilla cake and white chocolate mousse filling. I also added sand and chocolate seashells when I took it to the party. I'll post that pic too. Thanks for looking!!

This is what it looked like when I took it to the party. If anyone knows how to get that nice marbled appearance that is pictured on the outside of the seashell chocolate mold, please share! I wanted those orange shells to be white and orange, but the two colors just melded...

This is two-tier cake decorated with blue icing embroidery. It also has a few blue buterflies on the sides and a shell base. It is easy to make but it looks nice.
