I wanted to make a cake for my bf's parents since they have been letting me use their oven since mine hasn't been working and this way I got to practice my cornelli lace. I am not happy with the way it turned out... but it's better than the last time... it just kills my hand. I can do it great on paper then when it comes to doing on a cake, forget it!

Still practicing with MMF...I think I may have finally gotten a feel for it! This is my practice dummy, it is always displayed on my kitchen table. It is done from leftover MMF from my weekend cakes. I change it with the seasons (or when the mood strikes me!) Had so much fun making the bow and may make another one for a baby shower cake stis weekend!

Any tips or constructive critism welcome and appreciated!

My first time to work with MMF and I love it! So much easier than reg fondant and such fun. Tastes better too. Moon, stars and little baby are MMF, the rest is BC.

This was my first attemp at doing anything other than square. It's a pound cake recipe and the paws are hostess cakes. This was a little complicated compared to what I'm used to but I had a lot of fun.

This is my first attempt at tissue fondant box cake and figures. The elephant didn't turn out the way I wanted at all but I will survive. All in all I like the cake. Giving it as a gift for a friends son's 3rd birthday. I used my pasta maker to make the fondant stripes, the fettuccini attatchment. That was fun, but time consuming.

This is a cake I made for a very dear friend who is due any day. I wanted to make this special for her because she is so special to me. Not my best cake, but I have not made many lately...guess I am a little rusty. Anyway...thanks for looking!

This was for my Aunt whose favorite color is blue. The light blue frosting was a little deeper than it shows in the pic. My first multi-layer cake. I didn't look for instructions, but since being on here have learned alot. I also ran out of the light blue frosting, and had to tweek my original design a bit. I also need to practice my stars!!! Live and learn!!!

I made this for my son's Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet. Edible image. I should have skipped the writing, I'm not very good at that yet.

I just made this cake for my son's 2nd b-day. He is nuts over Blue Clues. I wished half way through decorating that I had made the top green, but once I had the house on it there was no going back.Oh well, maybe next time.

I made this cake for my dear grandmother's birthday this weekend. I'm particularly pleased with the colors; they were achieved with the Wilton "garden colors" set of 4 pots (delphinium blue, aster mauve, juniper green, and a yellow). Icing and decorations are all Italian meringue buttercream.

This cake was designed (color too) by the bride - not one of my favorites, but I've actually received another order for a similar cake! To each his own! Large cake, to serve 325, whimsicle words on bottom, scrolls, and a Corinthians verse on middle tier (done on each side of cake).

I've been wanting to do one of these for the longest time!! This one is actually quite small. The bottom is the smallest oval, then a 4" round and a 3", 2" on top of that. Half of a paper towel tube wrapped in fondant for each turret. I'm giving it to a friend of mine tomorrow, her bday was last week.

Two-tier cake covered in MMF with royal icing characters. The characters need to be made at least a week in advance in order to dry hard enough. And they take HOURS to make! (learnt all this the hard way!) But what a great result... next time I will make 2 or 3 of each character to have ready for future use.

This was made for a retirement party but I think it is much more suited to a bridal shower. It is a half sheet white cake with strawberry cheesecake filling and fondant flowers and butterflys dusted with petal and luster dusts in blue and lavendar with a marbled fondant plaque. The writing was done my the grand child of the person who retired. It was a perfect match to the napkins that were printed right down to the blue on blue background pattern. Everyone was wowed I was very proud.

Very simple to do. BC icing/Cornelli lace that stops half way down the sides. Border is a shell tip #21 start at base of the cake and drawn up. Toppers are tree ornaments set atop silver wrapped gift boxes Lots of blue and silver embellishments around the table, blue covered cake boards, and blue lights under the fabric so when the lights were turned off, you see a blue glow! Whaaalla! A great display! Would you believe this was for a preschool Xmas program!

I threw my hubby a dinner party for his 45th birthday and spent most of my energy on the mushroom stuffed tenderloin and other assorted yummies, but did manage to make a cake. This is a vanilla cake filled with chocolate mousse. I used Wilton fondant and mmf is far better. The blue is buttercream frosting. A very plain and simple cake, but it was yummy.

The cake was done for my Grandfather's 70th Birthday. He had just gotten a new truck and I tried to imitate it. Everyone loved the truck.

Had an extra 6 inch from last (and first) order so I decided to experiment. This is my first "drape" along with swirly thingys (the technical term ya know) I think my royal icing was too thick.

I wanted to practice using the MMF, which I have never made. I love it! I still need practice on smoothing the bottom of a cake with fondant but I loved working with it!

This is a fbct of Cinderella. It is a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting. It is 2 9x13 cakes pushed together. The face was not easy to do, but it turned out okay. The picture of Cinderella came from a google search, not a coloring page.
