This is a birthday cake I did for My Father-in-law he recently started working with a contractor doing renovations. I got a picture of his nail gun and used that with a construction theme. I found hand tool candles for its presentation.

A co-worker had me make this for someone that was celebrating a milestone birthday but didn't want a cake for his birthday. He did however want everyone to know that over the last year he had walked/run 1 mile every day. I put the 365 miles in 365 days around the cake sides along with the royal icing runners and decorated the top for his hobby - country line dancing.

The cups were molded in a mini muffin tin (after a little trial and error) and then I added the top rim and bottom of the cup and hand molded the rest of the shape and saucers. They are hand painted.

The teapot has a medallion of fondant that I pressed a flower design into with a fondant stick & then hand painted. The pot itself is a foil ball that I then molded fondant to the shape. The gold was very little vodka and gold luster dust mixed together into a paint consistency.

I made this for my son's first birthday. The inscription says, Patty Cake Patty Cake, Bakers Son, Lets All Jump For Joy, Xavier is One. My handwriting came out horrible...but it went fast, so no one noticed :)

Birthday cake for a one year old made of MMF. The lesson I learned from this one is when using MMF one might not want a cake with quite so many colors. It took me a long time to get all my MMF the right color.

Okay, this is the finished pic. I didn't like it. But I got rave reviews from the birthday girl and all of the guests. The MMF worked fabulously! So I am happy about that. Thanks for everyone's help.

I just made a small 6" cake for my son to nibble on. These are my frozen BC roses. I think they came out great! At least better than what I used to do.

This was my first birthday cake. My son loves Elmo, so we did an Elmo theme. I loved decorating it and he loved eating it LOL. This is decorated with butter cream icing. I didn't realize how hard it was to get it the right color red.
