Characters and sign done with chocolate transfers. Bert and Ernie took a LONG time to do, b/c of all the detail in their clothing. This was for my son's 2nd birthday. Top tier is Creamsicle (thanks to MacsMom for the delicious recipe, everyone LOVED it). Bottom is Chocolate. WBH buttercream, covered with Michelle Foster's fondant.

This is all made from sugar modelling paste, I did big birds in the modelling paste and then covered it with little circles of yellow royal icing. It was very time consuming but worth it in the end. I did Elmo in the same way and covered it with red royal icing and dabbed it a damp paint brush to get that effect. The colour in the royal icing then matured over night and ended up a little too dark, so I am not too happy with Elmo's colour. Overall the birthday girl was happy and that is all that matters.

I don't like elmo cakes, they tend to look creepy to me. So I choose an elmo that looked more like an illustration. The character faces are done out of fondant, I laid out the base color(blue yellow, red) and then took an exacto knife and cut out the characters, I then used darker shades of primary colors and rolled them really thin and applied them to the outside to define each character. Big birds mouth is a separate piece that I placed on top. Done for a little girls birthday. Hope you guys enjoy

This was done for twins turning one. The big bird is made of 50/50 (gumpaste and fondant). The aunt requested that big bird be the main character and she wanted cupcakes instead of smash cakes. TFL

I did this cake for my nephews first birthday. The cake is done in buttercream with fondant accents. All the characters and street sign were cut out of fondant. I made a smash cake of Elmo's face to match. I was inspired for this cake by one I recently saw on here by kawaiicakecook.

This is my first attempt at making fondant figures for a friends childs 1st birthday. The cake is covered in fondant and the figures & shapes are fondant as well. And edible food marker was also used for writing. I am very new at all of this and I teach myself so any input, comments, etc... is greatly appreciated!

I cut 1 11x15 cake for the I's and L, and made the V from an 8" and the remainder of the big pan. This cake was really fun to make, and everybody loved it! Mostly buttercream with fondant eyes, mouths, and nose... real cookie. TFL!

This was my 3rd 3D sculpture. This was very hard because I didn't know about using pound cake yet, or adding meringue powder to my frosting on hot days. So, I kept freezing the cake and the colors starting running. What a Trip!!! Wow, talk about learning the hard way. I'm a self taught cake decorator, so I learned "A LOT" the hard way. But still lovin every minute of it. :-)

Characters were made of fondant.Cake was covered with satin ice fondant. Cake inside was strawberry. I dyed the cake different colors for a rainbow effect. I think it turned out pretty cute. Too bad this picture didn't turn out better. Thanks for looking.

For Cyrus's 1st birthday. Vanilla cake with nutella buttercream to go alongside Sesame Street cupcakes.

Characters made with rice krispy treats, fondant and royal icing. Big Bird's a little shiny cause he was still wet when I stuck him on. I also ended up putting a two tier birthday cake with a candle in front of Big Bird but forgot to take a picture. Oops. 8 inch cake + four characters... this cake was a lot heavier than it looked!
Used karapags' Sesame Street cake as inspiration.
